Surely they are, as they do in Italy don't they?

Someone needs to look into this. Unfortunately I don't have that much time on my hands.

Trotter is right.

Capacity is reduced for UEFA games, the terracing is multi-purpose. Seats are put in as ordered by UEFA

run that by me again???????

The seats flip-up to allow terraces to be used for standing at Bundesliga games. Ingenious really. Apologies for the terrible photo but this should give you some idea (old-style terrace on the left, Bundesliga terrace on the right)

The UEFA regulations stipulate that games may only be played in front of seated spectators. Any standing areas must be closed.

It's here, though it's not very exciting - http://www.uefa.com/newsfiles/19070.pdf

Italian grounds with standing areas are few and far between, no matter how it might sometimes appear.

how many times have i read on here

'tickets are only a fiver in germany'

so, are we saying thats bullshit or are we just a big draw

Mr Casino, how are you?

Bayern's Bundesliga pricelist attached:

http://www.fcbayern.t-com.de/media/native/...e09b1a04b1641c0

For most home games you can stand for 12 euros (?8.), which rises to a massive (!) 15 euros (?10) for the few top category games. A fair chunk of the seats are then either 20 or 30 euros (?14/?21) again for the vast majority of home games.

When I went to Dortmund in February my ticket was 11 euros. That price applied to each of the 25,000 standing places. So, no, it ain't bullshit.

It is probably more because they have to convert to all-seater and they see a European fixture as a higher category. Maybe. :unknw:

And, of course, we ARE a big draw.

The picture on the left is Borussia Dortmund. The terraces do still look like that in the main, so I have no idea how they convert them to seats, but they do. It's only at the very back of the Sudtribune (25,000 standing places) that the seats flip back into the crush barriers like in the second picture. I'd say 80% of the terracing at Dortmund was 'traditional' on a Bundesliga match day and I think it's this way at most of the other German grounds too.

Looks like we are up in the gods at the Allianz Arena, a la St James Park.

Can't be as bad as Marseille though.

One fella got to a seat at the back of the corner in the Stade Velodrome, turned round and said "can you see alright Grandad?" To which Grandad replied, "see alright? I can fookin see Westhoughton from here".
