We will try to keep the noise down when we get in. What time do bars shut in Munich BTW?

There's a bar next door to our hotel called 'The Shakespeare' it opens at 10am and closes at 05am, that's all you need to know

MrH aint gonna move!

great we all travel half way across europe, to visit a cosmopolitan european city and there is a bar 2 mins form the hotel door that is open 19 hours a day.

wonder what happens next ? :drinks: :yahoo:

the one good thing is that we seem to have agreed on a location for 'base camp'

hope to see some fellow wanderers in this hotel!!!! :drinks:

Need recommendation for good hotel at the airport.

Two of us have managed to arrange meetings at our head office in Heidenheim on Tuesday and Wednesday morning with a company paid overnight stop in Munich on Weds and Thurs.

The one condition is that we need to be back in the office by lunchtime on Friday. So we are now booked on the 9.25 LH back to Manchester. To maximize kip and recovery time on the Thursday night, we are plumping for an airport hotel.

Never stayed at Munich airport before (we normally use Stuttgart to get to Heidenheim) - so who can recommend a good one?

If the company's paying, you don't need recommendations from us.

Just search 5 star hotels in Munich on www.hotel.com

Why is that then??? the website makes it sonds pretty good, but to be honest i couldnt care less just some were put your head down realy. :drinks:

The mega cheap price, the location, the fact that it doesn't even appear to have a bar - now i'm no Sherlock Holmes, but..............................summat's nagging inside me that it just might be a tad basic

Anyway, like you said - it's just somewhere to rest the head. :good:

Although I've got free bed & board stopping out in the southern suburbs for 4 nights, i decided to join in the fun in the inner city on Wednesday night, so I've treated myself to a room at the Holiday Inn Munich Centre currently available @ ?171 per night.

Actual cost 25000 priority rewards points, which at the current exchange rate equates to ?0.

My Stepbrother lives in Munchen but I thought it best not to ask him for a bed for the night. He's a bit posh and can't see his missus taking too well to me bringing a posse of pissed up Bowteners back after the game, puking in their plant pots, supping their vintage wine, pissing in sinks and generally f?cking up their suburban lives for 12 hours!

snobs

Snobby b'stards!

We have a company apartment out in the sticks, probably cheaper to book a hotel than fanny about with taxis. Plus less chance of getting sacked.

Try the Kempinski at the airport - less than 5 minute walk to the terminals - a bit pricey but if the Company is paying!!

I've stayed there many times with work. Quite a few top notch brass working there awell!

Plans have changed.

We can't be arsed with the treck in and out of Munich on the Weds and Thurs nights so we have booked in the centre. Just need to face the Friday morning trip to the airport for the 9.30 LH flight back to Manchester!
