worthy10 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Why has Kevin Davies been overlooked by the england selectors? If they want a battering ram (emile heskey) why not go for one that is currently scoring goals (kevin davies)
Carlos Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I'm guessing here, but I reckon Fabio Capello knows more about football than bloke on WW. What do you reckon?
tylswhite Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) Why has Kevin Davies been overlooked by the england selectors? If they want a battering ram (emile heskey) why not go for one that is currently scoring goals (kevin davies) I agree he should be in with a chance if Heskey is his main competition. On current form Davies is better so why not? I think the thing that keeps Heskey in favour is his performance against Croatia and the team as a whole did well. Edited October 8, 2008 by tylswhite
Sweep Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I personally think that Hesky is a better player than Davies, and so would select him ahead of Davies each time. I would also rather Davies wasn't picked for England, just in case he became "billy big boots" as has happened with other players in the past (I personally think he is probably more level headed than that though)
HR Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Heskey is one of the best strikers in the prem, Im amazed hes still plying his trade at burywithafewbob Wigan.

Doubt we'll ever find out though.
worthy10 Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 most people managed to work out that I meant Davies. By Carlos' rationale we are only permitted to have an opinion on matters that we are deemed an expert on or are employed to have a knowledge of? That can't work. Or am I not qualified to have this viewpoint
no balls Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 By Carlos' rationale we are only permitted to have an opinion on matters that we are deemed an expert on or are employed to have a knowledge of? I didn't read his post in that way. I read it that he thinks Capello has a greater knowledge. Happen it was just me then.

I'm sure Mr Capello has a greater knowledge of football than I. Can't I voice my humble opinion without it being spun around?

That's a question not an opinion or a viewpoint and none of us actually know the answer to that. We can speculate that it's because Heskey is a better player. How the hell did Heskey get into the squad ahead of Michael Owen is a better question.

And probably THE best commentator ever! Or, is it Barry who used to play in goal for Spurs circa 1980? Edited October 8, 2008 by wackerchackers
