Traf Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Zaki (pen) 43 mins. We're 2nd best in a poor game. 2 bookings for each game in first half hour. Davies & Heskey both missed good chances. Shittu was lucky not to concede a penalty much earlier than the one that was given for an O'Brien foul on Zaki.

Guest TonyCee Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 4 defeats out of 5 now. Lose the next 2 in the league and i would hope that the supporters start to vent their fury against Megson. He is out of his depth and should never have been appointed.
Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 shiite result. looking like we will be back deep in the relegation battle come mid jan. F?cking wigin as well not good enough
royal white Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 change the record Did you manage to take any positives from the game??? absolutley rubbish, not one decent performance and how many times were Riga and Gardner on their arses???
Arnold Jackson Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I have flu and spent the match in Bed. Didn't think I could feel any worse but after that I now feel really ill. Man U and Arsenal next 2 games its back to the bottom for us I'm afraid and deservedly so.

Man U and Arsenal next 2 games its back to the bottom for us I'm afraid and deservedly so. I'm afraid you're right there, Arnold. Very sad to say it, but that was awful. Ball control was poor, passing was shocking, possession non-existent, the ball endlessly pumped high upfield for no-one in particular. Surprised in the end we came so close to scoring at all. Ah, well, here's to better performances in the next difficult 3 games so we have something to carry into the following winnable games.

Could not agree more, what do we actually do in training sessions? Do we pump the ball forward everytime we train? Do we ever do any one touch pass and move routine's? I honestly can't see what we practise. The sooner we can buy a creative midfield player the better that can do something different or just switch the play occasionally, we are far to predictable. Come on you whites!

Today was the most direct we have played for months. Especially the last couple of months we played some decent stuff. I have no idea what the tactics today were about. Maybe megson thought putting bramble under pressure would prove worthwhile
Members bolty58 Posted December 28, 2008 Members Posted December 28, 2008 Panic setting in again I see. No one mentioned the disallowed 'goal' incident? On TV it looked over the line. Comments? KD should have scored first half. We should not have lost that one. Not panicking yet as, we have already seen that Megsons side is capable of stringing 2 or 3 wins together and the January transfer window will be open soon. Far too early to be panicking. One thing I will say is that there was a notable event on the pitch. The worst two central defenders in the PL on the same pitch. Fcuking hell, Shittu frightens me.
Traf Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Shittu frightened me too today. Apparently he had a decent game, but IMO he was lucky that Heskey didn't score when Shittu gave him the ball and he was lucky not to concede a penalty. Steinsson was poor today and collected his 5th booking which means a ban. Shittu's header didn't completely cross the line. KD should have scored.

Exactly my point. Could have single handedly cost us the game but his partner did. One of the areas I would hope they'll throw some money at. Need a reliable partner for Cahill as neither of the two we have look to be that.
Guest YW Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 United and Arsenal next 2 games...........easy.
Happy Wanderer Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I think Kevin Nolan started life as a centre half, maybe move him back along side Cahill.
