From what I can gather, Megson named the strongest team available and the players selected failed to play to their full potential.

Blame the players.

Sorry but i think it is time to part company with him

You, amongst many others, thought that the day he was appointed.

I do agree the players didnt look interested and Megson as said as much himself why did it take till 70mins for a change?? Then till 85 for the second!! That to me says something about the managers lack of ideas

I was disappointed GM didn't start Smolarek. The front three haven't been impressing the last few games, so a cup-tie seemed the logical chance to see what he can do. Plus fresh legs for one of the tired front three.

Otherwise it sounds like the expected performance & result from what I've heard. So, like one of the earlier posters, I feel nothing. Sadly.

Exactly. I do hope he didn't play the "strongest" team just so that he couldn't be slagged off for playing a weakened one. Never going to know what Smolarek can (or cant) do until he gets a decent crack and unless Elmander or Davies get injured, then thats that for the season.

You'd also have been disappointed if he'd swapped one of the forwards and still lost. Isn't hindsight great?

Megson rested Davies for the liverpool, then plays him at home to wigan where he was not at his best, then megson brings on odabeyi against Wigan instead of Smolarek who scored 2 goals for the reserves a couple of weeks before, then low and behold sunderland in the cup was a great opportunity to play elmander and davies for 45 minutes each with Smolarek, opportunity missed, then throws on Smolarek who promptly scores, Megson clearly does not have a clue, he is uninspiring dour and patently clueless, we have to tough this season out with the ginger one but for crying out loud let us get rid in the summer.

should scolari be sacked too after drawing at home with southend?

nobody is claiming megson is a great manager, but he is no better or worse than at least 10 other manager in the league.

he is what we currently have and doing a respectable job imo.

yes there is room for improvement. but as far as i can see the worst he has a achieved is 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

we have no divine right to beat every other team you know. some people just arent on this planet!

get a grip, for fucks sake. this consistant megson bashing is getting extremely tedious now!!!

What Megson should have really said building up to the Sunderland game to Bolton fans is don't waste your money travelling up there, don't waste your money on tickets, don't waste your money on a day out, etc as we really don't give a fucccck about the FA Cup as the Premier League is the priority....

Sorry but i cant let you get away with the comment "doing a respectable job" we were knocked out of the Carling cup by Northampton on the day Megson said it was a cup we could win!, we are now out of the F.A cup so what do we have left? either a mid table finish (wow get the open top bus out!) or a fight against relegation,

I wouldnt like to see him doing a bad job !

I at least wanna see my club look as if they are slightly interested in doing summat.

I am not saying right sack him immediately cause i dont think we have much of a choice now, but i cant listen to people saying he is doing a good job thats just bollocks,

who said 'good' job, i said 'respectable'.

at the moment we are heading for mediocrity. which is an improvement on relegation scrap in my book.

have to agree it is very tedious, however it will continue until we get rid, there are too many who cannot stand his style of play/demeanour, I am not one of the stronger critics of Megson's reign, but my main gripe is lack of game changing substitutions, negative formation at home against the lesser sides, his griping about the lack of support for him and the players, we are now in a run of 1 win in 6, he started on a bad foot with me at the begining of the season when he did not send the full first team to the family day, lastly we are a smaller low profile club and part of his job is to raise the profile lift the club players and fans this he clearly does not have the personality to do, let us not forget he is on big bucks and earned a 500k bonus last season for keeping us up, for all these reasons I say at the end of this season we must look for a better manager.

Hardly a disaster losing away from home to another premier league team in the Cup.

given the choice i would rather have dicked them in the league rather than the cup...... hold on a minute, isn't that what happend?

Get over it!

Get a grip, I want to see a competitive team whenever they play. I want to see my team go to wembley and win a cup and get into europe

I dont want to see shite football hoping to scrape enough results to stay up.

And all you f?ckin idiots backing megson, get real, it may be the same team that beat them before but look at the disarray they were in, they lose a shite coach and then beat us. Megson hasn't got a clue and has to go, end of.
