Whizz Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Reet, I have been asked by a young band if I know of any pubs that have live music. I don't know many so it's over to you lot. They are called, The Damp. Have done 3 gigs already and have improved each time. There is four of them, aged 18, 17, 15 and 15. They do some decent covers including Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, Stone Roses, Sex Pistols etc. They have also written a couple of songs. I suppose they are just looking for more experience at the moment. Anyhow, I look forward to any replies. Cheers in advance from me and the lads.

Big City Girl Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Bay Horse, Horwich - the one nearest the Public Hall. The Soundhouse in Bolton is a good one. It's coming under new management soon and I should imagine they'd be open to newer bands on slow days.

wayne cramp Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 what do they charge for a gig NOT MUCH , THEY ARE LOOKING FOR CHANCES TO GET THE EXPERIENCE .
wackerchackers Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) The Lever Bridge have had a few bands on in the past playing that sort of music. So they might be up for another. Edited January 7, 2010 by wackerchackers
Whizz Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 what do they charge for a gig Like crampo says, not much. The gigs they have done, they were paid ?100 between them. I have just text one of them, but crampo is right, the experience is more important to them.

Burndens Bogs Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Ainsworth Arms at the top of Halliwell Rd have bands on a regular basis, and they don't seem to mind giving young bands a go.
Moderators Carlos Posted January 7, 2010 Moderators Posted January 7, 2010 Moses Gate Isn't the bloke who runs this a bit of a cunt? Apols if that's totally and utterly wrong.
