Liked doesnt matter.

Respect does.

The two together is good but not a necessity.

No idea if he is either.

At no point did I say he needed to be nice, Casino seemed to have just decided I did. I said he perceived as "jumped up self conceited", maybe high handed & dismissive of those he thinks are 'beneath him' would've been better wording which I'd really doubt are qualities that would gain respect from staff. Again, I might be wrong, but in 22 years of a working life they're not been qualities I'd have thought would be admirable in a boss.

I hope somebody from the previous regimes is staying. They'll know the strengths & weaknesses of the players ,& after nearly 10 years in the premiership there must be some know-how at the club which can help OC.

OC and the people he is bringing don't have much premier league experience.

It's alright, they can just ask all the opinionated cocks that frequent message boards such as this one.

you were the one who brought 'like' into it

my point was that he could be the most unpleasant man on the planet, but it wouldn't stop him doing a good job

homo said he'd heard from folk who claimed to be happy with the job he had done

you said 'they must like conceited men'

i'm perfectly happy to accept you view that he's a twat

Neil Edwards?? Was he the lad from stockport county? Very good keeper but quite small?

I used to go to Fred Barbers coaching school for kids, I remember that he used to coach Edwards at Rochdale back then. Edwards and Branigan helped out a few times, didn't realise he was involved with the club.

I'm surprised Steve Wigley left as he was reputed to be a very good coach and even works with England in the Under-21's. I've seen some reports in the papers saying how much the players enjoy his coaching sessions and I think he could be a loss.

I hope that both Fred Barber and Chris Evan both stay. Fred Barber has been at the club for years and knows how to work with and get the best out of Jussi and Al Habsi. He's one of the best goalkeeping coaches in the business and i think Bolton would be stupid to let him go. He stayed after both Big sam and Little Sam left so i don't see why he should leave now.

Chris Evans knows the players there and what they are about and I think getting rid of anybody at the club with an insight into the current squad would be foolish as, with no disrespect to coyle of his team, they don't know much about our current players. It's always healthy to have some semblance of continuity.

dont agree wth any of that get rid of em all and start again for me.

If the decision was taken to sack Megson then surely the whole lot of them go? Why the surprise? Cork and Wigley were inextricably linked with Megson and hence part of the problem. Well rid I reckon. Never filled me with confidence those three.

As for Evans, if he was just a Megson man then he will be down the road as well. Or OC might have a chat with him and decide to keep him on with the Academy.

With Steve Davis, Phil Hughes and the Chief Scout coming over though, as well as the two we expected looks like it is all change.

Breath of fresh air or too much too soon? It's going to be interesting at least!

very sensible post pass it on.

Chris Evans has been here over 2 years you can count his interviews to the press on 1 hand, I never seen him once present a united front in the media or on the touchline with Gary Megson, why he was appointed as assistant manager can only be guessed at and my guess is Megson appointed him knowing that he was not a threat for the managers job, the sooner we get rid of him the better and I doubt that you will ever hear of him linked with any top management at any club ever again.

I doubt he has any interest in the media or being manager, that's not what he was brought in to do.

He was brought in to restructure the club, which was apparently a bit of a mess post-Sammy Lee. He had a job for life at Wolves after bringing through the likes of Keane and Lescott while he was working with the Academy, and he convinced two of their brightest prospects (Connolly and Davies) to come here.

There probably won't be place for him in the Owen Coyle revolution, but he's proved himself to be good at what he does, twat or not.
