The worrying thing is that his style of football is very fitting for the so called Liverpool standard, attacking exciting.

Hope his head isn't turned by the money!

Ah, the Liverpool play nice football MYTH !!!

1 NIL up and sending it back to the keeper every 3rd pass is not exactly Arsenal or Barca.

Coyle would be mad to go to Liverpool at this point. They are sinking, fast, and it would do him and his CV NO good !

He is better staying at a Club your size, doing really well and over-achieve, and build his reputation up that way.

If you've time to read any liverpool message boards I suggest you do so.

Sure, OC's name has been banded about by the supporters just as we speculated about who would replace any of our previous managers.

Nobody ever got a job offer based on popularity on a message board.

I may be wrong but I don't think club owners know much about message boards.

If if does end us going to LFC there's nothing we can do about it.

I would think OC is one name for the future for a big club; not a current target because he hasn't actually done anything yet. Half a season at Burnley and two half-seasons at Bolton don't yet constitute success.

Sideways step ::lol:: ::lol::

I think there might be something in in this story,I thought Coyle was unusually quiet on the touch line against Wigan and a little less enthusiastic in his after match interview, I could be wrong but I have a little nagging doubt in the back of my mind that there will be a decision for him to make.

Funny, if you go on the "Coyle for Liverpool" link on the BBC web site, the Daily Express article cited doesn't mention his name at all. BBC stirring up shit about BWFC as usual.

I think Liverpool will find it a lot easier to fire this manager than get a top one. Not much money, delusional fans, best players want off, no European football next season. And a relegation fight, looks like Big Sam territory to me, but can you imagine the howls if they appointed him?

Don't worry, Rafa's going home.

We lost Bruce Rioch to Arsenal with a CV no more impressive than Coyle's.

and look how long he lasted

I'm not worried by this rumour

Despite Liverpool's current plight they are still a big enough draw to most top managers. There will be a proven manager out there who will take the job.

I doubt this new owner will want to take a punt on OC as his accomplishments so far are not even near those of Woy Hodgson.

My money's on Martin O'Neill.

That would make my day

He would alienate all and sundry at Liverpool

Could see him being an absolute flop

I could see pretty much anyone who takes the job being a flop.

If they came in for him he would go after all he cant be too happy at losing his better players & being hampered by fiscal contraints

at the end of the day it would represent progress for him personally & how bad are Liverpool at the moment ??...he could'nt do any worse.

I agree with your general comment about his demeanor on Wed night ..........hope we are both wrong.

I hope were both wrong, add to the fiscal constraints and losing his best players the apathy of the Bolton public for the fantastic job he is doing, seeing 10,000 empty seats in the Reeebok must make him think what is the point.

Maybe, just maybe, OC wasn't on best form on Wednesday.

He might have a touch of manflu or have personal things on his mind.

People decide that he wasn't his normal self, therefore he's off to Liverpool. That's a massive assumption to make.

(Mind you, I'd look miserable if I had to go and work in Liverpool)

But according to some on here, he's no better than Megson, so presumably they won't be bothered if he does go.

Let's hope he doesn't read this site then, otherwise his bags will already be packed.

I reckon he could do a job

but it would cost Liverpool a lot of money to do so

he spunked a lot of money away at Villa then got the arse when they wouldn't give him anymore

but think that's the case for whoever comes in - they're going to want a lot of money as that current squad is sh?te and more than likely won't have Torres in it next season

The Villa players held a party after O'Neill left there. Apparently even the groundsman hated him
