We've clearly heard very, very different things

As I've been told, it wasn't just the peripheral players but pretty much the whole group

The Villa fan I knows was up in arms when Villa let a number of players go including Knight and Cahill yet relying on an old cripple like Martin Laursen.

Agbonlahor came through in O'Leary's reign and was a 1st teamer when O'Neill arrived, he can't claim a success of him.

?8m for Young was a gamble and it's paid off, but it was alot of money for him at the time; if you spend the kind of money that O'Neill did, you'll get one or two right.

O'Neill left Villa in disarray and they've never recovered

3 consecutive 6th placed finishes and a Carling cup final and Fa Cup semi final in his last season.

A very strong team that had 2 players in the team of the year.

3 young English players worth in the region of ?20m each.

If you call that disarray then fair enough.

As for selling Knight and Cahill, he got ?5m for a player that had very little premiership experience and sold Knight who wasn't considered to be very good, then got in Dunne and Collins who for the most part have been very very good and for not very much money.

Milner was so important to that team that when they sold him they HAD to invest at least some of that money not only to replace him, but also to bolster the squad that was very thin and got very lucky in the previous season not to get any serious injuries to their key players like they have this season.

I'm not saying O'Neill is the best manager ever, yes he did spend money and I have no doubt that he did fall out with a number of his staff, but I bet if you asked most Villa fans now if they are glad that he left they would all say no, I know my mates definitely would.

I think there might be something in in this story,I thought Coyle was unusually quiet on the touch line against Wigan and a little less enthusiastic in his after match interview, I could be wrong but I have a little nagging doubt in the back of my mind that there will be a decision for him to make.

Have you seen today's press conference? He looks and sounds like he's not very well, like most of the country, to be honest.

I think you're wrong.

I'm not surprised he's got manflu, really.

Shorts in this weather? Get a coat on, Owen.

Of course villa fans would say that now because of where they are. But at the time I remember the phone ins on talkshite with collymore full of them wanting him gone.

You can't knock o'neill's achievements previously but they were on the slide....

Anyway back to the point, I think he'd be a mistake for Liverpool, but I can't see them going for him so it's likely to be a moot point!

The big wuss was wearing trackie bottoms in the hotel, day before the Chelsea game

Were you stalking him, EG?

Were you stalking him, EG?

Someone else suggested I was doing that when I had to walk past him 3 times! My excuse was I'd left summat in the room...

seeing 10,000 empty seats in the Reeebok must make him think what is the point.

How disrespectful would that be to the 18000+ Bolton fans that turn up every week if that was his reason ?

Take Juventus for example, not many mangers would turn a big club like them down, yet at the start of the season they sold under 15000 season tickets.

Every manager loves to see full stadiums at home, but it isn't the be all and end all is it ?

Yes, maybe the Liverpool board have a plan where they can pick up all our out of contract players for free at the end of the season.
