Superb find!! Obviously I’d love my Dad to be still alive (sadly at 105 it would be wishful thinking) but it’s stuff like this that rings so many bells about stuff he told me By 1945 he’d be

Undies Sasa fact of the day. I repaired his telephone line when he lived in Bolton. He drove a yellow Jag.

It was a yellow BMW M3 and he lived on Templecombe Drive 😉

Aye, I remember it was yellow. I lived just down the road from him and would often see his motor fly up and down Belmont Rd.

I delivered papers that estate. I knocked on his door for an autograph and he delivered the goods

Been posted plenty of times, but certainly no need to apologise. I'm sure most of us would happily watch it again every single time.

Whatever happened to the footage of the home game against them? The opening day of the season. Always had it in mind that we led due to a thunder bastard from Gowling but that could have been my young, overactive imagination and it was merely a tap in.

Good goal

Not a half volley imo, but a ball that was hit on the top of its bounce

Embankment

First goal id seen us score in div 1 and actually cant remember when out of the 3 it was scored

Dyou know, if one thing says getting old, that was only 20 years after we had won the FA Cup

Like you, it was for me just something in the history books

20 years ago, youri and jay jay were playing for us

Its bedtime xx

It was definitely on TV because I remember seeing the footage on the day without knowing the score (different times) and we were 1 up at H-T.  Can't remember if it was MOTD or Kick Off Match but there must be some footage.

Definitely a televised game although it's never popped up on You Tube or anywhere else. That goal of Gowling's was an absolute screamer. I think I'm right in saying it was his first for the club because he didn't score in Div 2 in the last few games after we had signed him in the Spring.

Bit of an eye opener for everyone about top flight football when that quality Bristol City side hit back in the second half

Great that 👍

In an era where we only got on tv when we played at home, and that was rarely, it's great seeing footage of us on the road. How smart was that Umbro strip too ♥️. Had to be on your toes with Gow and Hunter on the pitch. I reckon, with the exception of McNabb, that was practically the same team that got us promotion the season before. Them days it was 13 players playing  all season, and cup games, with the odd reserve team player thrown in that few had heard of.

Thought Blackpool would have more there than that.

What year did they first segregate the embankment then?

I have zero recollection of this

I don't recall being there or watching it on TV

The only game I can think of v forest at the reebok was a 3-2 win under Phil brown just before allardyce took over, Ian Wright was playing for them
