Rooney V Elmander

If there is going to be an award for best individual goal in the Prem, then it's between these two for me, not being biased, I think Elmander's was the better goal, but that goal from Rooney was simply stunning. I bet that would get the award, Elmander's didn't even win goal of the month.[berbatov v Blackburn won it]

I'll do a poll, but I can only see one winner, especially seeing as this is a Bolton forum, from a neutral though, I was gobsmacked when Rooney scored that.

It's a standard overhead kick when left unmarked. Most times that over the bar.

Coz its rooney everyones bumming it. Fuck him.

I don't want elmo winning either. Lofthouse v harry Gregg. Thats your winner

Not seen it.

Fair enough, that's your opinion, but I think we could also say, more times Elmander gets intercepted or the space isn't there for each phase of the trick.

Goals like Rooney's and Elmo's are what makes football so exciting in my view, Joga Bonito individual talent.

Johan Elmander is a grade one prima donna cunt so I went for Rooney instead.

Holden v blackburn is my favourite so far this season

Are we talking about the Elmander goal v Wolves away?

If so I would go for Elamander as that takes quick feet and skill (with a dash of luck).

I'm a fat pudding Dad of three and I'm sure if you poked the ball over to me enough times I could score an overhead kick.

Just noticed Elmander's didn't even win goal of the month for November.

Was that after reading my opening post? ;)

Edit: Here's Elmo's goal again, a magic memory.

Closet Red

I thought Arsenal's second goal was the best goal scored yesterday. A proper football team's goal.

I'm not that excited by circus tricks.

he shinned it

he shinned it

Correct.

If he hadn't and it came off his laces that ball would have landed in The Lowry.

Fluke.

i could do what rooney did

i couldnt do what elmo did

therefore elmo's is the better goal imo

What? Shag a Granny?

Rooney shinned it, could have hit row Z.

if rooney had done elmos goal, jamie redknapp would still be beating it now.

my goal of the season is mark davies. bloody class that

The Sinclair goal is the best overhead kick I've seen, Rivaldo's is very good also. But it takes a Frenchman to add that little bit of class:

Rooney's was a good goal but is being made out as the best goal ever just because he's a scumbag.

thats proper technique.

not some fat twat falling on his arse with his legs over his head.

There was more than an element of luck to Elmander's goal. I'm not having it otherwise - he was never fully in control. Decent finish in the corner, notwithstanding.

Not having that one bit - look at his body movement - he knew exactly what he was doing

I am surprised it came off though!

Ha - chillax fellas - it's just an opinion. He couldn't have known of the space behind those two defenders (terrible defending 'n' all) - it was a risky move that came off - he could have turned blindly into trouble. Good touches in all of it - GREAT goal - I just don't think he was fully in control of the situation and he ahd some luck.

You'll be talking about Paulo Wanchope next... ;)

Look at his body, look how the ball is glued to his foot, he was never not in control of the ball.

There are occasions like that where you just know were that space is, the problem is trying to get to it. He did both.

If Emander would have scored Rooney's goal, and Vice Versa....you would still be saying Emo's was better !

What idiots!
