One of Petrov's best games for us I thought, passed it nice and simple at times, other times he was prepared to run at the defence, he created stuff and came close a couple of times. He doesn't get back as we'd like, but when he plays like that he offers far more than the likes of Taylor IMO.

i thought petrov was above average today

cracking cross first half when davies whacked the keeper

put chance on a plate for davies second half

couple of decent shots

if you're going to play a winger rather than a midfielder, i'd say he did a good-ish job

Would have to agree, he did ok today. But Petrov is Petrov, he's nothing but an attacking player. His sort will never do a lot of tracking back, but on his days he can affect a game with a touch of brilliance.

Problem is, in a team like ours he's a luxury.

If we play Petrov away against anybody decent and we are screwed, especially if we have Alonso left back too. We have got some tough decisions to make all down that left side in future matches, I will leave the to Coyle though :D

Shame the TW is closed, could have done with Pedders back ;)

What's happened to those who thought that Coyle didn't have a clue how to win away games? Or those who thought we were incapable of keeping a clean sheet? That's two away wins on the bounce and two clean sheets...

Look you've been told already ...

fuck off back to Burnden Aces and reactivate your account you plum...

What... and miss your riveting fucking insights?

Yawn....Anyway talking of spouting shit, Mark Bright was quoted on the BBC as saying that Alonso would be better placed at centre half than full back...fuck me, i think Diddles could make the grade as a BBC pundit!!

I don't. Most of them are on the 'Ignore' list.

Hopefully I am on it.

You boring monotonous single directional cunt.

What... and miss your riveting fucking insights?

i dont understand why anyone would give you +1's

are you paying them???

I fail to see the point of using the ignore function.

Me too. I tried it with a poster on a different site and it says "Such and such has posted an answer. You are ignoring him. Click here to read the post.

You end up reading the stuff anyway.

Anybody playing left back with Petrov in front of them deserves a pat on the back. He offers no help at all. He doesnt even run back to just try and get in the way of attackers never mind tackle em. The lad will get better the more he plays. Maybe we should get Robinson closing him down in training to help him learn if you dont play quick you get clattered :pardon:

Alonso's positional play has improved enormously since he played at Southampton in the Carling. He's not the finished product, but could be in time. He times a tackle well and his heading is good. Distribution was better in the 2nd half when Petrov made himself available more.

I thought that the defence was excellent and played the offside game well to compact play and deny Murphy space. Spurs gave him far too much in the last round. Muamba had a great game breaking up play in the midfield to complement this.

Suprised No Balls hasn't joined in this thread yet.

Did you just say something?

Alonso was decent in the 2nd half. For those calling for Taylor at LB pretty sure the last and possibly only time he played left back for us we lost 4-0 at villa and he was awful

I am sure people have different opinions on what constitutes having a good game. It seems people think you have to play like messi does almost every game to be classed as having a good game. I also think petrov played well today and also chungy. Just because they didn't get hattricks don't mean they didn't play well

im pretty they were only making suggestion as to what options we had.

Hopefully I am on it.

You are now. Is that another example of your blinding 'wit' and 'intellect'? I'd stick to whining when we lose, it's what you do best.

But what is the point of using the ignore button? It's a forum and surely it's better to see all views even if they conflict with your own. When you hear something in real life you don't like do you put your fingers in your ears and go "la la la"

im pretty

Not sure how true that is, or what it has to do with anything.

ah cunty bollocks

"pretty sure"

Sorry Garp, I thought he was poor first half but then right at end of the half he put in a hugely important challenge and seemed much more confident and better in the second half.

Alonso had a poor start to the game. He was easily beaten. He improved in the second half putting in some good tackles. However his distribution was awful and led to Bolton being immediately put back under pressure.

On another note, why was Petrov booked? What actually happened?

initially it looked like the Fulham player raised a hand to Petrov

on a replay, it looked like Petrov did it first, but was hard to tell

as for Alonso - careful Garp, he was ok yesterday and we're going to see plenty more of him in the next few weeks, but his distrbution was poor and he's bound to get a new arsehole ripped for him in the near future, now that you've posted that - I wouldn't say he was cack after Burnley at that but wouldn't say he has proved the doubters wrong after yesterday

but that isn't my point

I'm not saying hes a world beater, im not saying hes not going to have the odd mare along the way, im saying its going to take time.

Il say it again - Carlos Tevez didn't score in his first 17 Premiership games. I can 100% categorically guaranfuckingtee if we had signed him he would have been lynched, booed and slagged off by the fans at the game/on every message board going that we should pay someone to take him off our hands.

Bergkamp, Henry, Drogba, Vidic, the list is endless. They all need time to get used to the Premiership. Thats without naming the numerous players we have had that needed time.

Yet the same simpletons do it every single time with one of our players if he doesn't hit the ground running straight away.

he's not long turned 20 for fucks sake, hes moved to a foreign country learning and new language and people expect him to be a superstar straight away.

What I will say, I'm not worried about his distribution whatsoever, this should be the least of our worries.
