  • To be fair I can sort of see his point, I don't see that BWFC would be an especially interesting game for the home fans, unless of course Holden is playing, or if we happen to be the reighing FA Cup c

  • Maybe they should get PNE instead as they won the league plenty times. Houston Dynamo, founded in 2005. I've got socks older than them. There's only one team in Texas! JR knows the score.

I know where Fort Worth is not to sure on the bar :D

Shove it up their fuckin' arses then!

Would have been some coup to have the FA Cup Winners there.

If you win, we'll probably reconsider.

Holden could not be reached for comment. Through his Houston-based publicist, Holden declined a recent interview request with the Chronicle

He's probably gutted. If we did manage to win the cup, and they then decided they wanted to invite us, I would be quite happy with the club telling them to fuck right off. At the end of the day, we play in one of th ebets leagues in the world, they are at best a conference side with less history that Stevenage Borough.

In fact Holden should tell them to fuck off

If you win, we'll probably reconsider.

if (and it is a big if) we do win the FA Cup, you won't get the opportunity to reconsider, because we will get far more lucrative offers from the Far East

Apparently we have reconsidered

Bolton Talks Back On

The Watson negotiations are not the only ones that have been revived recently.

Although it was initially believed that a match against EPL side Bolton Wanderers was no longer a possibility following the season-ending injury to former Dynamo and current U.S. national team midfielder Stuart Holden, it turns out that there has been a change of heart.

Canetti confirmed that the team is still in negotiations as they attempt to gauge whether Holden could recover in time for the match. The club also consulted with fans about the level of interest in a match that did not feature Holden. Canetti sought the opinions by meeting with the new Dynamo fan advisory board this week.

?Players count when it comes to international matches,? Canetti said. ?So we had a teleconference with the fan advisory board, and they were still in favor of it.?

Canetti is hoping to come to a decision on the match by the end of the week, although the Dynamo are also in talks with other EPL clubs, including Everton (featuring U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard) and Fulham (two potentials draws: Nacogdoches, Texas native Clint Dempsey and Mexican international Carlos Salcido).

If we get into Europe via the FA Cup, we'll be playing competitive games in July, no time for a pre-season jolly. Fulham, fuck me, it'll be our work 5-a-side team next as we've got a statue of Abe Lincoln outside.

Does that make sense to people in England, cause I have no idea what it means. I get the words, but haven't got a clue what he's trying to say. :wtf:

Aye, makes sense here.

I was saying Fulham are one of the least attractive teams in the professional game, Mexican player or not. We have a team at work, our connection with the US is our office is on Lincoln Sq, with a statue of Abraham Lincoln outside. Maybe you'd like to play us?

I'm a bit rusty with the vernacular, but I'll give it a try:

"Fulham, fuck me" - The gentleman is expressing some surprise that Fulham would be considered for a friendly with the Dynamo.

"It's be our work 5-a-side team next" - The gentleman is surmising that if Fulham is not available, the Dynamo would probably consider the 5-a-side team made up of workers at his place of employment.

"As we've got a statue of Abe Lincoln outside" - The gentleman is undoubtedly referring to a statue of Abraham Lincoln, former President of the United States which is located outside his place of employment.

Comment:

I'll make a guess here, the Abraham Lincoln reference is probably a tacit acknowledgment that the gentleman making the "Fuck Me" comment is an official of Church of England or a member of Parliament (see attached Statue of Abraham Lincoln in Parliament Square, London - which is located adjacent to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Cathedral)

I could of course be wrong - it's been I while since I had the opportunity to converse in the mother tongue

I prefer my explanation

Thanks. Part of my problem was that I didn't see the last line in PSBU's quote above it that mentioned Fulham, I didn't understand where Fulham came from. And the rest just didn't make sense about Lincoln, 5 a side and all. Now it's coming together. I'm a little slow. ;)

But yall really do talk funny over there.

I do still want to see Bolton here, I hope it works out. Nigel, the PSBU guy, was going to buy your game tickets, I was planning on taking you all out to enjoy an evening in my town, East Bernard (google it  ).

Not seen you out and about at lunchtime in literally years

I can occasionally be spotted nipping into Shlurp, don't usually go out as lunch is free.

Condolences on the loss to Stoke.

On a brighter note - the cost for us to have you play a friendly is probably less than it would have been if you had advanced. Rumor is that there'll be some kind of announcement shortly
