Totty Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 players picking their own tunes is a quality idea tho!
TheWanderer1958 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 But it would be decent if we had some kind of anthem. Problem is...the club can't tell the fans what it is....the fans have to do it themselves as per 'The Lords My Shepherd' at WBA or Delilah at Stoke. Will that ever happen at BWFC? We need an anthem thread........!
Site Supporter MickyD Posted March 9, 2011 Site Supporter Posted March 9, 2011 Players picking their own songs would be great but it'd be a bit of a sod for reebok voice or whoever inserts cd and purges play.
Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted March 9, 2011 Site Supporter Posted March 9, 2011 Trouble with having players songs is if it took a deflection going in we would have to wait a week for the dubious goals committee to reach a decision who scored!
Gaz Nt Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 If we can replicate this, i don't see ANY problem having this song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCAN_F-nPC8&feature=fvst
Traf Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 For me, using the same song as Celtic & Burnley is a non-starter.
Gaz Nt Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 For me, using the same song as Celtic & Burnley is a non-starter. Thats like saying... For me having the same colour kit as Tottenham/Preston/Leeds it's a non-starter.

What about the 'The Lion of Vienna'? Didn't the Houghton Weavers offer to re-release it with all proceeds going to the Nat Lofthouse statue fund? http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/boltonnews/8820100.Band_looking_to_sell_charity_song_for_Nat_Lofthouse_statue/

oggybwfc Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Not my kind of song, but i think "Thats the way i like it" by KC and the sunshine band, would sound reet after a goal.
Totty Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 ive got it! White Lines - Grand master flash!!! fookin classic! Rang dang diggedy dang di-dang Rang dang diggedy dang di-dang Rang dang diggedy dang di-dang Diggedy dang di-dang diggedy dang di-dang can just imagine a crowd singing that in unison! 'freeeze, rock' even sounds like 'Reebok' if you wanna be gay about it.
Ani Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I am slightly concerned how this thread has gone from light hearted piss taking to people making serious suggestions.
pato Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 How about the Wayne's Bar classic "No Wanderers No Cry"

Boothy Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 OWEN Coyle is hoping the Reebok?s new theme tune will continue to keep Wanderers on song. There has been a mixed reception to the new goal celebration tune after it got its first airing in the 3-2 victory over Aston Villa. BEN - Whites on Song
no balls Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I think the IT boy's have been a little naive in their selection of song v a number of our supporters views on the other clubs using it.
Pablo Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 What about, this....! Now, you could get this going me thinks ! You dont need anything new, you just ALL need to get involved ! Makes me want to Dance this, oh go on son, lets boogie !!
Proper White Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Who's that comin up the hill boys.. The anthems there to be sung but it'll never happen Like it...one of our best songs and almost unique to us but even that one is sung elsewhere I'm afraid. Liverpool sing it and started before us.

BEN - Whites on Song Sounds like the return of the music after a goal's been scored might have been his idea. There are plenty of things that could 'improve the matchday experience' but music after goals isn't one of them. If they want an anthem that's unique to Bolton then just play the 'Lion of Vienna' before kick-off, that would get the crowd up for it.

I thought that would naturally happen after the Chelsea game and the excellent tribute pre-match.
