chrisw99 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I heard on Sunday that the Bromilow Arms is going to close at the end of the season. That was almost as bad news as the 0-5 scoreline, as going there has been part of the Reebok pre-match experience for years. Sad news if true.

There's an interesting rumour about one of the bidders, couldn't think of anyone better to take it over.

no balls Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I think I said last time this was mentioned, it could be a belting pub if done properly.
enzo gambaro Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 It could, but you'd have to pretty much gut it and start again.
mickbrown Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I think I said last time this was mentioned, it could be a belting pub if done properly. It already is a belting pub.
no balls Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Peter Stringfellow has bought it Can't wait The real one, or Bolton's very own one?
Guest bwfcdan Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I wouldn't mind taking some of the tops on offer if they're gonna take them down..
Sweep Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 The real one, or Bolton's very own one? That would be excellent. he could adorn the walls with picutres of himself and various randoms
Notlob Downunder Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 It was my local for a few years and played for their very average pub side. Had some cracking nights when Fat Frank was the landlord. Don't agree with the need of a make over the decor was part and parcel of the experience. Had a pint there on a recent trip home. Great spot, shame it is closing.
chrisw99 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 In case anyone is wondering about The Bromilow, a client of a relative of mine has bought the pub and it will be open in probably 3-4 weeks time after a quick refurb, but no major changes. I think all the footy memorabilia adorning the walls is going to be flogged on ebay, it was left in the pub but quite manky now.
Guest Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 The real one, or Bolton's very own one? that would be the ghost of? That'd get the tourists in

chrisw99 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 This is beltin news, have Bank Top bought it? No details I'm afraid. My uncle works in planning and he just rang me coz he knows it was my pre/post match drinking hole to say one of his clients has got the pub and will be opening it soon. I'll see if I can find out anymore if I speak to him again.

Breightmet Boy Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Looks like Tonge Ward Labour Club won't be opening again, apparently it went up in flames last night.
Tyldesley White Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 It looks like they had starting work on Bromilow when i drove past yesterday
