superwhite81 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 So whose going, whose staying, whose coming back an where do we need to strengthen? Full Backs - Robbo gives his all, as does Steinsson but I'm afraid we are weakest at both full back positions. Left Wing/Left Mid - Petrov has all the talent in the world, just a lazy so and so. Taylor gives 110% but offers little. If only we could morph the two together Sturridge - If we can get him back great, but I doubt we will. Although I reckon OC will be doing is best to get him back. Gardner - With the problems with Alonso and doubts whether he will be available next season maybe worth another year if only for cover at full back. JLS - Hasn't played for 18 months or so, have we really missed him, probably one we can afford off the wage bill however see above with lack of LB cover Cohen - Bit part squad player, no real impact, not many games. Good to be off the wage bill. Maybe the return of Sean Davis may fill his role? JOB - Was a talent however injuries curtailed his progress. Again good to be off the wage bill Blake - Won't be on a great deal, but frees up wages. Tom Eaves to take his place as first team squad player? Rodrigo - Undecided, will he or won't he be back on loan next season? Danny Ward maybe to take his squad place? Elmander - 12 goals aren't easy to replace, however at leeast his wages have become available along with those of the above.Needs replacing Cahill - Wheater & Knight for the first choice pairing with back up to come in? From the ramble above what I mean is I would prioritise the following areas: RB - ?? LB - Warnock CB - Mathias Jorgensen/Rhys Williams/Boyata (2 from 3) LW - ?? Strikers - Sturridge I make that at least Six players needed in this season, with the hope that the likes of Vela/Eaves/Ward can fill in when required

no balls Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Isn't there about 19 threads along this topic already? JSL Possibly, but I don't think anyone else has said Warnock's worth a punt.
frank_spencer Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 They have you know. There was an entire 2 page thread in his honour because one of the red tops linked us with a ?2m bid.
Boothy Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Wait 'til the Cahill threads go into overdrive. A fun couple of months lie ahead.
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted May 23, 2011 Site Supporter Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) i thought boyatta was decent but after seeing him for city yesterday, id rather keep bloody steinson & ricketts. can he play centre half? Edited May 23, 2011 by HomerJay

superwhite81 Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 I was surprised to see him at right back as he's a center half by trade. A mate who's a City fan said he's a centre half. A good player by all accounts, but, too many big names in front of him

Guest Frandsen08 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I'd take lee bowyer, he's out of contract Seriously? U mean that 34 year old spring chicken lee bowyer? No thanks
paulhanley Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Stephen Ireland would be a classic Bolton signing. A promising career that has hit a problem. And he's Coyle's type of player. Villa want rid.

paulhanley Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 and the obvious drawback ker - ching Not necessarily. Depends how badly Villa want him off their books. The fallout with Houllier seems irreparable and that leaves room for a hard bargain to be driven. My guess is that a club would be in with a shout with a ?3m bid.
frank_spencer Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 and the obvious drawback ker - ching His bint was on BBC 3 last night on some program called Young, Loaded and House Hunting. She said he's on 50-60k a week. All that cash and fuck all class.

Big_Sharps Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Ireland also cannot play in a 4-4-2 so would be a pointless signing.
