They are in fact getting the approval of the vast majority of ordinary decent working folk - the type of people you as a left winger are supposed to be your primary concern - by simply making the statement that they are not prepared to stand for it. Just because they're not waving Socialist Worker banners doesnt make it illegitimate or counter to the interests of the lay public. As I've said throughout this thread, the police are a bag of shit and these 'mobs' are, regrettably, doing precisely the correct thing by preparing to fill the gap. I'd be proud to be stood beside them whether outside a pub or on a civilian patrol in London or a Sikh temple in Birmingham or a synagogue in Manchester.
