birch-chorley Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 what about when we have lost 18 out of 20?? He has got until Christmas for me, two reasons... 1/ I believe he will turn things around 2/ I dont believe the managers who have been mentioned Ian Dowie, Kenny Jacket, Gary Flitcroft, Dean Saunders, John Sheridan, Sasa Curcic etc would be able to turn it around.
onefinfrandsen Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Coyle needs to tell the team to fly out the traps early against Stoke and put them under pressure. We need to attack from the off and put them under the kosh and if they arent feeling 100% they will cave in. If we sit back and let them get something to hold onto it will be much harder. This is basic management but i still dont think Coyle will do it. If he doesnt get a win against a team who is playing their 3rd game in 7 days he really isnt up to it (i already have serious doubts). The team needs to be shown a dvd of the semi to remind them how poor we were, and show it them as near to kick off as possible.
chillo Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 We've just got to win this one against an average Stoke team that will be playing their 3rd match in 6days including a 2x5hr flights. If the crowd get behind the team and actually support the players I'm sure we will win. If the players get stick right from the kick off then i'm not so sure. No doubt Stoke fans will be well up for it after the unmentionable so we've got to back the lads. =D> well said that man (even if its to stop them stoke tossers laughing at us we've gotta be together on this one) as someone once said its not the size of the dog in the fight its the size of the fight in the dog lets fuckin hammer em
Traf Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 A 5hr flight? Wow! Imagine the stress on the body of having to sit down for 5 hrs listening to an iPod.
Guest bwfcdan Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Shawcross has gone off injured tonight, replaced by Upson. If Upson has to start on Sunday, that can't only be a good thing. Absolute shite.
Arrested development Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Newcastle are making stoke look very average. Newcastle fair decent this season.
waffer cup 07 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Shawcross has gone off injured tonight, replaced by Upson. If Upson has to start on Sunday, that can't only be a good thing. Absolute shite. Wilson off replaced by Huth, Stoke look very poor, COYW =D>
sirnatlofty Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 were gonna get dicked and anyone who doesnt think/ expect so is remedial.
waffer cup 07 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 were gonna get dicked and anyone who doesnt think/ expect so is remedial. Well i hope your not going on Sunday to 'support' the lads. :nea:
gonzo Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 were gonna get dicked and anyone who doesnt think/ expect so is remedial. we will win.
Juan.Kerr Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 We'll beat this lot, if we can find a bit of backbone, the crowd doesn't get on to the players from the off, and Mr. Webb has a decent game (and he can sometimes). It's all very well saying will it make any difference, but 'course it will, it will be our first home league win since fck knows when, and it's three points closer to safety. It's a start for fcks sake, so lets have no more of this relegation nonsense. It's not as if we're getting cast adrift at the bottom.
magic legs Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Fair play to Newcastle and to Pardew for the start they've had.
magic legs Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Probably struggle to find many folk who thought Pardew was a good appointment.

Gooners at home straight after the Wembley debacle when we left the Reebok not yet realising how the 5-0 thrashing by Stoke had affected us.
MickyD Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Oh dear. Opta stats say Stoke have had 22 shots on target ALL SEASON. I fear we will be charitable!
Juan.Kerr Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Playing all five of the big four in the first big handful of games this season has affected us more Micky. We can't use 5 - 0 against Stoke as an excuse forever. We've got to give our collective selves a kick up the arse and get down to business. That way lies safety.
EyesRight Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Heart, Bolton 5 Stoke 0, lay the demons to rest. Head, would take a scrappy 1-0. Hopefully Upson will be playing, can normally rely on him to gift us one or two.
DazBob Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hopefully Upson will be playing The most postive thing I've read on here all day. We can only hope and pray that Pulis hasn't done his homework...
no balls Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Probably struggle to find many folk who thought Pardew was a good appointment. Certainly not those "knowledgable" Jordies.
Rembrandt Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Newcastle are making stoke look very average. Newcastle fair decent this season. By hard work as a team, the wide players coming back to defend all the time, not allowing Stoke to physically push them around, by having pace & power up front. Impressed by Newcastle tonight. Will our lot do all that ?
tylswhite Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 If Upson is playing Kevin Davies has to start. Upson is shit scared of Davies and he will bully him.

And of course we will get the chance to shout "freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkk"
YATESY Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 If Upson is playing Kevin Davies has to start. Upson is shit scared of Davies and he will bully him. Spot on tyls, Davies will Love It and he has one or two things to prove having, for the first time in years ( / ever?), not played in a Bolton Premiership match which he had been available for. If Davies plays against Upson, we might just sneak it 2-1. If Coyle goes with the same as started at Swansea, it's more tears I'm afraid. By the way, this "it all started with the Semi defeat" I just don't buy. For me the wheels came off before then and is more linked to the Holden injury. We lost 2 out of 3 after the quarter final win at Birmingham with Coyle already starting to scratch his head on how to manage without Holden
mickbrown Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 If Upson is playing Kevin Davies has to start. Upson is shit scared of Davies and he will bully him. True that - last time I saw him play against him I'm sure I heard him squealing when Davies went up for a header with him
