Decent enough analysis from an outsider.

For those who cant be arsed reading here are a few points -

1/ Only two teams have suffered a worse start to a top-flight season, and among just nine sides to have lost 12 or more times after 15 games, only one has avoided relegation.

2/ Bolton top the Premier League charts for the most goals conceded from crosses (10) - double the number of Wigan and five times more than Swansea.

3/ They also lead the way when it comes to letting in goals from corners, and the eight they have shipped in this manner is twice as many as Blackburn or Wigan, four times the number of Wolves and eight times more than West Brom.

someone should point Coyle and gartside in the direction of this....

unless its all part of the plan...

General consensus is..

We don't practise set plays

We don't practise corners

We don't practise throw ins

We play ping pong, and chasing OC up the stairs

???? Perhaps that's why Gardiner is ' persona non grata'

He can do the 100 metres in Linford Christie time :nea:

Says it all !!!!

The skanky BBC reporter can't even do his own research !!!

no balls, on 12 December 2011 - 12:52 PM, said:

The crime is he doesn't know it but it's him who's making me lose my passion.

Mona's post .....

The crime is he singles out one player every match to pass the blame to

?Even then, Paul Robinson must be much tighter with Albrighton; he was nowhere near him." (Bolton News)

I've never heard him say - 'I am at fault for picking the most inept players at the club '

IE the one's he signed, or the real reasons he won't play Steinsson or Muamba or Gardiner

Team Idea

Anyone but an OC signing !

when you pick lightweight midfields like last week is it any surprise we have conceded 25 from open play

the defence is not all of a sudden worse overnight from last season

it all started when Elmander played in centre mid v Stoke and it's gone downhill from there

I don't know why, when I saw that diagram/pictogram of how we're conceding 2/3 of goals, I had this mental picture of Coyle and his useless underlings trying to organise an inquest into the latest humiliation...

All the players are sat cross-legged on a carpet being mischevious, while OC is vainly trying to get a VCR working - it's one of those massive silver ones and it's coupled to a 'wooden' telly fixed to a stand he's wheeled in (like at school many years ago).

If that article doesn't state the bleeding obvious...why isn't he seeing this?

Why start with Pratley at the expense of Muamba?

Why play players out of position?

Why not use SKD as an impact sub, rather than first name on the teamsheet?

Why bring back everyone for corners - specifically Klasnic who is f*cking useless* anyway?

What is he seeing that 20 odd thousand others aren't?

* At defending.

Yeah agree. Start of last season and for good chunk of it be had a decent midfield in the front of the god awful back 4. Better ball retention from lee, holden etc, muamba tidying up meaning lesser pressure on the back four. Ive always thought our back is shit and can be "got at" - teams last year came to our place alot and sat back and only attacked when going behind, look at the spurs game barely attacked us til 3 down as soon as that happened and they suddenly wanted come out attack its like a knife through butter going at our awful back four. This season as well as still having that shit defence weve now got a bloody awful midfield in front of it who neither retain the ball well or protect the back four well thus a recipe for leaking goals at will

the full back pairing of steinsson and robinson is one of, if not the, worst pairings in the league over the last two seasons, i'll stand by that comment

2/ Another goal from a cross

".... it showed a manager who wanted to provoke a response having seemingly tried everything to turn his side's fortunes around."

Get the fook with you !

How about trying NOT 4-4-2 and with a solid midfield defensive screen !

Tried and tried... He's tried 4-5-1, 4-3-3, and 4-4-2. He's tried Muamba and Reo-coker (2 defensive centre mids) on lots of occasions this season. He's tried FOUR central midfielders instead of playing the arty-farty wingers we all like to moan about. Nothing seems to be working. I think we just have to face it that it's the players that aren't doing the business. Whether that's down to the manager or not, we don't know.

On a side note, 4-4-2 has gotten us 3 wins this season, 4-5-1 has gotten us 0 (in the league at least).

to be honest, i've managed to block most of this season out, so you may be right

when did we not play 4-4-2?

muamba does not play as a defensive midfielder
