My colleague lives in village near Oxford, the whole place is flooded, can't get a train as the station is totally shut.

If it makes people feel better, it's full of really rich folk who sold up and moved into Cotswold/Oxfordshire villages.

Have to say the deep south east has been fine, lovely blue skies with a few showers but that's it.

Glorious today.

Dropped a tree, snedded, sliced and stacked.

All in sunshine, clear fresh air, with the refreshing scent of pine.

Decent workout too.

Good for the soul.

As shite as the weather can be, days like today make up for it.

Would never want to spend days in laboratories again.

Ace round the ribble valley. That Tolkein trail is a good little walk.

Yep. Did it last year. Loads of others. Jamesplaces do lots of guides for walks around many of their great pubs.
Another good guide here.

Weather not as good today so a car ride rather than a walk.

Got our wedding coming up last weekend of October, all self contained in one venue so not too concerned about the weather, but she picked this place partly because of the lovely view you get across the countryside at sunset from the reception room/conservatory. So I'm hoping for at least some evening sun for the pictures she's been imagining.

As long as the tail end of one of these tropical storms doesn't get picked up by the gulf stream I think we'll manage though, long range forecasts suggest some higher pressure systems at back end of the month, so fingers crossed.
