Doesn't work like that. If you're a tramper with a load, you need to get there,

Friend of mines just had his load refused at Birkenhead docks, no way he will sit in a cab waiting this out, he's also not legally allowed to. No choice but to drive back

My load is almost always refused at Birkenhead docks as well, unless the missus is exceptionally drunk and accommodating

Glad I'm up in Lincolnshire, I can sit back and watch whatever carnage happens

Weather woman on my local news was full of it although we're well away from the strong bit... we can have winds up to 50 mph... I shouted at the telly "I've landed Piper Cherokees and rode my motorbike in more than that"

Drama Queens... calm down and get on with it... make your own personal decisions without central nanny state texting you

Nah, it’s not sitting right with me this.

As most people on here are north west based, you can’t tell them you’re “up” in Lincolnshire.

Technically, you need to say “over”, because “down” would sound wrong too.

carry on.

"Exiled"?

"Troubled"?

"Sub-humanised"?

Not had much here, yet.

Previous years I'd been disappointed as i make a few bob putting tiles back on folks' roofs but this year I can't be bothered... sign of getting old... no doubt some useless young house owner will come knocking on my door before the winter's out asking me to fix his roof... one even tried to pay be using his phone last year, told him to go down the cash till and get some proper money. I only wanted twenty quid

I wouldn't fix my roof.

That's what roofers do; they're the trained and experienced people.

I had two roofing companies try to fix a leaky velux as I thought it was above my pay grade... it still leaked so me and my mucker got up there on a Friday afternoon and found a bent soaker to the flue just above... straightened it out and double taped the tyvek to be doubly sure... hasn't leaked since. It's not rocket science.

There is a roofer in the village and he sends the little repairs round to me, cheeky sod... I know I'll end up with my triple extender out before winters over but I really don't feel arsed anymore

Man killed on the A59, when a tree fell on his van.

Weather warnings are not without foundation.

Was on the prom before and saw a family struggling to stand up and stop their buggy from blowing over.

There was debris and sand flying all over and traffic signs blowing down the middle of the road.

You really have to question folks sanity.

I saw Jim Dale- major weather/climate dude- talking about the potential for air-borne debris.

He made the point that some weighty object- bin lid or similar- launched at 80 or 90 mph may well knock you over and prevent you from ever getting up again.

It's been less dodgy around here, but I was driving up Affetside when I heard about the van driver on the radio.

Certainly gave the road-side trees a second glance.

First time been in uk for Xmas for 10 year.  Today has been a challenge for me, the shit weather the darkness and my dodgy box gone down, so no sport so I’m  verging on depressed… that’s not me… never again will I be here over Christmas.. I’ve had to go pub on my own as I’m a fucking misery.🤣

Mate I could easily kill someone the mood I’m in. Talbot pub in Euxton for me… thankfully it’s sports bar, bright and lively and tunes on for a local it’s ace.
