Ratwhite Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Not trying to be controversial, and to be honest am very happy with DF. However, did we miss out on not getting mad Ian Holloway? Quote

gonzo Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Hes of the same ilk as Coyle... The only gripe during his reign from the Blackpool fans was their inability to defend. Look at their match with us at the Reebok...they should of won that game 4-0,but instead he still went for it at 2-0 and let us back in. Quote
paulhanley Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Agree with all that is said about the drawbacks to Holloway's "cautions to the winds" approach. However, I'm still glad to see him leaving Blackpool. He's done a good job for them and I harbour a dislike for them over and above many other local rivals. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Not trying to be controversial, and to be honest am very happy with DF. However, did we miss out on not getting mad Ian Holloway? I think we have missed out has a better record than Freedman more experience and has got Blackpool in the premier league and should have got them back via play offs last year, some of our fans thought we were not a big enough draw for Holloway I think he would of crawled over broken glass to manage a club like Bolton. Quote
Sweep Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I'm not sure it's that folk thought that Bolton wasn't a bit enough draw for him, I to think he would prefer to manage Bolton than Blackpool....after all, there aren't many who wouldn't. I think the reason folk didn't want him is that he's a bit of a dick, and he also has shown the same tactical nous as Coyle on occasion by not changing his teams approach to matches when it's needed. I'm glad we've not got Holloway......that though doesn't mean I'm overly excited by the appointment of Freedman, or indeed think that Freedman will do a better job for us than Holloway might have. gonzo Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 sorry forgot..... YEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! :: :yahoo: Quote
Sweep Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Are the Blackpool fans crying yet? Oyston Out banners? Quote
gonzo Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 They are besides themselves mate, they really are. The bed sheets will be out next Saturday alright. My mates just text me saying 'well that was the best trip we've ever been on...' Feel sorry for the proper fans, but for all bandwagon jumpers/Bolton haters and Oyston sympathisers...you've managed to fuck it up again! Quote
Heb 7:4 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 From a Palace perspective it is very strange. We're left feeling that we're better off than we were, having used Bolton money to upgrade our manager! Not what we were expecting. And of course that's just perception. Only time will tell whether Holloway is a success for us (and indeed Freedman for you), but in the here and now it is unexpectedly pleasant to feel that we've done quite well out of all of this Quote

Youve got a cracker there in my opinion, anyone that has achieved what he has under the restraints of that dimwit chairman is a miracle worker IMO. Any word on a number two yet??....cant see Steve Thommo following him to be honest. Owen Coyle Favourite for Pool job. EDIT...Coyles 3rd behind,Appleton and Garrps mate Keith Hill (cant see it being him has his buy out clause is rumoured to be 1.3 million,Oyston wouldnt cough up £300 never mind a million.) Heb 7:4 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 No, no clue on who the assistant will be. It's interesting that Fleming so far hasn't gone to Bolton. He may be angling for it. And if Thompson isn't installed as manager at Blackpool he may then want it. Have to wait and see. Still, our current success has come through bombing forward and scoring more than the other side, so we seem to have gone for a manager who's the right fit! Also sends a good statement to our players, which is important as Dougie leaving was definitely unsettling. Speroni said he "felt like he'd been kicked in the balls" Quote
Sweep Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 If Coyle does pitch up at Blackpool then that will be very odd Quote
gregbwfc Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 sorry forgot..... YEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo: Seconded. Work with a bunch of them, although they never let on until their first play off final. All apart from boss who just refers to me as a murdering bastard . They'll all fuck off back to following their "main" teams now, Munich and the other red scum. Priceless !! Quote

Casino Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 from what i read, holloway left to be in london now, unless we can relocate, we can never offer that = shitty bit of london, granted so, i'm not sure how we can have 'missed out' i'm happy with freedman i think we've got a good, solid structure in place and i'm quietly optimistic that we can see a revival with strong foundations, rather than just a good first team Quote

DomRepWanderer Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Interesting that Coyles first game could be us, wobbles head, then sees a loss to clueless, purely on the basis of new manager syndrome. Quote
