Youri McAnespie Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 ... just a shame it's so 'breezeblocky' in the concourses. I've a load of rolls of blown vinyl and solvite in my garage, we can get started Saturday if you're not going to Blackpool? Late finish Sunday should see the job done. Quote

Guest Blixa Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 I doubt the club would just punt this by an Architect on spec. without assurances of grants, agreements with anchor tennants etc? Let the Lostock locals campaign that they preferred living next to a sprawling munitions factory than football pitches. Long term vision aside, the problem with having one foot in the past and one foot in the future is that you piss on the present. Our u-18s seem to be doing alright - they are the players who could be challenging for places in the first team next season. That's a pretty decent present without big transfer fees. Thinking ahead does sometimes work. Quote
Rembrandt Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 there goes the players car park then. More to the point, there goes the disabled fans car park. As if having the players warm up 2 feet in front of them during the match isn't bad enough. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 wasn't it as part of normid? i'd swear they were putting a grass pitch on top of the building They were putting a pitch on top of the executive boxes which were planned on the embankment I Still have the paper the Burnden Bulletin somewhere that BWFC produced to showcase the development I'm pretty sure there is a picture of a young Carlos in there it looks like him anyhow. HR Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 I think its wonderful we are developing players with a long term strategy. Without sky moneyits our only hope for long term stability. I just hope the rest of the club in terms of player selection and transfer targets starts to perform as it should. Quote
onefinfrandsen Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Don't like the bit about developing the west stand, acomadation and hospitality.is there not all that space in the north stand they can use up Quote
EyesRight Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Don't like the bit about developing the west stand, acomadation and hospitality.is there not all that space in the north stand they can use up That's full now. I think ED should buy JJB on Middlebrook and turn it into a Sam Jacks style boozer. Would only need to open match days it'd do that well. Quote

That's a pretty decent present without big transfer fees. Thinking ahead does sometimes work. Whilst that makes sense, it's still a bit of a leap...they're a good team, which wins things at that level....but there's not many outstanding individuals to challenge the 1st team in the next 12 months IMO....which is the real indicator of success at that level Quote
Horwich Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Said in today BN the club have "restructured" the debt to eddie davies. Quote
HomerJay Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Said in today BN the club have "restructured" the debt to eddie davies. lower payments for the club, more interest for ED everyones a winner Quote
Horwich Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Will that not put us further in debt though? Quote
Sweep Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Will that not put us further in debt though? It spends if he ever calls the loans in or not. Either way, he'll be getting more interest from the club than he would from a bank, so I can see why he does it Quote
scoobydoo Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Eddie has to give 10 years notice to get his cash back . Quote
EyesRight Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Eddie has to give 10 years notice to get his cash back . Plenty of time to have a whip round with the pint pot. Will he do a dance? Quote
james phillips Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Eddie has to give 10 years notice to get his cash back . Like a payday loan then? Quote
tyldesley_white Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Will that not put us further in debt though? Same amount of debt, just takes longer to pay it off Quote
Boby Brno Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 It spends if he ever calls the loans in or not. Either way, he'll be getting more interest from the club than he would from a bank, so I can see why he does it According to PG in the BN, it's an interest free loan. Eddie Davies is 65ish so if they gave notice now he would be 75 before they would be obliged to pay it back. You can't take it with you so maybe that's why PG is 'relaxed' about the debt. Maybe he's our Jack Walker (without the Premier League title) Quote
Horwich Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I very much doubt it. We own it to his company dont we? Quote
HR Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 It looks like whilst ED has not exactly written the debt off, it will take some large scale buyout of the club for him to get it back. This news is the best we've had in years, we have seen with Liverpool the etc. affects of bank involvement and their ruthless attitude to debt. I doubt ED is a lone entity or that the dealings of the Bermudan holding company will ever become transparent. I still don't have a clue how we managed to hold our debt at 20 odd mill for years and then in the blink of an eye we are over 100m down. It's the fault of Nicky Hunt or the ticket office. Quote
Guest Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 someone told me that eddie's company made 200m last year that might change the perpective Quote
