It seems to be finally gathering momentum.

 

Big thing about it on Talksport the other day.

 

Quite a few clubs behind it,Villa,Palca,Derby.Cardiff to name a few.

 

It winds me up,the Hillsborough support group sticking their noses in,the kind of area thats being piloted is fuck all like the old terracing,and its safer to stand in one of these sections than stand in a seated area.

 

I spend 80% of the game stood up in ESL anyway.

 

And besides,the atmosphere is that shite at the Reebok,anything must be worth a go.

 

It works across the board in Bundesliga....that being with lower ticket prices.

This 'safe standing' is bollocks though, isn't it? It's the same as we do in ESL, i.e. stood in front of a put up chair

Well said gonzo. It's fairly obvious the aways everyone has been enjoying is linked with standing as a group as 1 as such. What I don't understand in the media is everyone treading carefully on the subject as I don't think a discussion about safe standing is any sort of insult to 96 peoples lives. Times and technology have changed. For me I'd like terracing in the north and south lower.

I honestly think it will happen and that would have the added benefit of the Reebok seeing a 30,000 plus crowd one day for me that would be a dream to see so many on at the Reebok as I think BWFC lost something when Burnden was stripped to 20,000 all those years ago the club and the fans needs the carrot of big games , big crowds and big atmospheres lets bring it on and make it happen.

But the thing is the vast majority of us want to stand up. If this comes into place then we can do it without worrying about some fuckwit behind falling over the seat, without us doing the same and fucking our shins up ... and most importantly without stewards acting the big man and turfing folk out.

 

Whilst it might not be 'exciting' would you not prefer it to what is currently in place?

What misses me off is quotes from people like the poor woman who lost her son at Hillsborough, "There are 96 reasons why this shouldn't be allowed".

Too many people who are against this are ignoring the facts and ignoring the whole design of these standing areas. They are NOT terraces.

 

I'm all for it, but I unfortunately can;t see it happening any time soon.

... and it also means that folk who DO want to sit down then you can do so without worrying about everyone else in front of the standing up.

 

It brings back the choice we always used to have, buy a ticket to stand up or buy a ticket to sit down.

 

I really cannot see ANY negatives to this.

The german-type barriers would need to be installed, as stated earlier.

Barriers cost money.

Guess who'll be paying for them?

That's one thing that certaibly won't happen, if anything I reckon the prices will be pushed up a little to pay for the extra barriers required.

 

The atmosphere probably wouldn't improve that much anyway, as you'll no doubt be made to stand directly in front of your seat, it won't be anything like the terraces of old

I still don't think it should be dismissed as a bad job because it won't be anything like the old days, I'm sure most people understand that. It will, however, mean that like away games where the atmosphere is considerably better, more like minded people can gather a little easier. It couldn't be any worse at the Reebok lately so I can't see why not.

I'd love standing areas to be brought back, the fact that quite a few folk are getting giddy about Peterborough says it all - the fans want it and the customer is always right!

 

As it happens, I would probably still have a seat at home games but having the option would be good

Does the capacity actually change? - I thought you had to stand in front of a seat anyway, so therefore the capacity is the same no matter if it's all standing or all seating.
