Ratwhite Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Been thinking about this for a week or two now. I said that if we didn't win at Forest, that was it. (And I wasn't going to Derby) Anyway, after beer on Sunday and getting "that" feeling, here I sit waiting for a lift to Pride Park. If we don't win tonight I think play-offs are defo out. Thoughts........? Edited February 19, 2013 by Ratwhite Quote
Whizz Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 We've won as many games as Peterborough. Why do we keep kidding ourselves? Quote

anewman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 when coyle wasn't sacked in the summer I hopes of promotion were dashed Quote
tomski Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I still believe. But as we can't win back to back, my earlier comment sounds fooking stupid. Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I still believe. But as we can't win back to back, my earlier comment sounds fooking stupid. Win tonight and against Hull on Saturday and say Boro lose the 2 and others just below them do crap then there is still a chance - won't happen though Quote
DazBob Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Absolute last chance tonight. You waiting to hear Nigel Clough's verdict? Quote
tarian1979 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Liverpool have got more chance of CL than we have of making the play offs and i take the mickey out of their fans for saying its still possible. Basically we'd need to win 12 out of 15. Blackburn will be the ones who sneak in who arent in it if anyone does. Edited February 19, 2013 by tarian1979 Quote
Zico Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 we've been out of it since Christmas! we're 12 points off 6th and 4 off 22nd so we'd have to win 4 more than Boro or whoever finishes 6th before the end of the season which probably equates to having to win at least 10 out of 15 given we haven't strung 2 wins together all season can't fathom why anyone would be looking up and not down Quote
enzo gambaro Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Last five years suggest we'll need 32 to 37 points from the remaining 45 available. The best 15-game run we've managed this season brought 21 points, the worst brought 16. From where we are now, we might need 15 points to stop up. Let's get them first and see where we are. Quote
Garrp Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 You waiting to hear Nigel Clough's verdict? if we cant win tonight were fucked right back Brayford playing centre back and two kids at fullback. Quote
DazBob Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 if we cant win tonight were fucked right back Brayford playing centre back and two kids at fullback. I think I read that Will Hughes is struggling too. Hope so. I'd like to see Craig Davies given a chance to get right into them from the off and 'soften them up' like Kevin used to do once upon a time. Quote
mickbrown Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Playoffs? Seriously? Surely none of us is that delusional? Quote
superkev Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 We should be beating these they are crap. Or at least that's what people say before every match. Quote
Casino Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 i think we will finish top 8 the rot is stopped Quote

maje Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I would be happy to go on a decent run and push for a top 10 or even 8th place ready to have a real go of it next season. Think the playoffs are out of reach now. Obviously I would be ecstatic to be proved wrong. Quote
Sweep Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I don't see the slightest chance of getting in the play offs, as Enzo says above, we would need circa 35 points from the remaining 45 available, and I don't see that as happening as I can't see us winning 10 or 11 of the last 15 games and drawing a couple when we've only won 9 of the previous 31 Quote
iggy Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 My head says not a chance when you look at the league table. But part of me doesn't want to believe we can't do it Quote

Obviously I would be ecstatic to be proved wrong. yep, between now and the end of the season it'd be nice to get a run going where we go say 6/7 unbeaten with more than the odd win chucked in, just to make the season not seem a complete waste and get us on the boom cycle for next season it wouldn't be enough to get us in the play offs but it would be enough to get the optimism and confidence going for next season, which, in a summer without footy, is much needed Quote
Danny G Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 For me, the Watford game was the cut off Quote

Rembrandt Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 The pre-season friendlies made me predict 11th/12th. Play-offs never ever likely for me ............. sadly. Quote
