He’s on twitter a lot mate

Oh good. If I didn't see someone for a while, I used to think that they'd got a new woman, were working /living away or were inside but I'm now at an age where I start to fear the worst :)

What’s his Twitter handle?

Im presuming it’s him anyway. Remember he drove his truck through Texas etc. And he’s called ste. And he’s big.

Used to play for my old man for the supporters club and the volunteer

Spoke to someone who is pretty much embedded in this a couple of months ago. He told me that even though they have not totally abandoned the idea of a film it's not their main priority at the moment. It seems the possibilities of doing a documentary type drama are more realistic.

Undies FITK.

At that infamous Trashmere game where that prick Aldridge ran down the line giving it the big man, Ste was there with his "LA Whites" stars and stripes flag. I was over with my lad and think that was the last time Ste and I caught up.

We lost 1-0 to a crabby goal by that ex-Chelsea Scottish winger. Niven, Nevin or summat?

last saw him in Amsterdam at an England game about 6 years ago

I remember him running onto the pitch during the promotion celebration game against Fulham in '78 (complete with horn and Luton town hat if I remember correctly was his usual attire) and getting collared, only to be let back out from the tunnel a few minutes later to great applause. Someone else then tried the same trick and didn't reappear.

I used to work with Steve in Kearsley for about 3 years before he went to the states. He came back after his first trip and said he was going back in a few weeks. He phoned while he was there and said he quit his job and wasn't coming back.

I also made the mistake of going drinking with him in The Saddle in Farnworth. I was ill for a week.

On a similar theme today is 75 years to the day since the Yorkshire spinner Hedley Verity was killed in action in Italy. Taking nearly 100 wickets a season for 10 years at 14.90 he must have been some player.

Wonder if there was any further development. I was reading the Takeover thread and someone said the Custard Diet and Howard straightener could make a great film. Wonder if it'll end up a double bill with Wartime Wanderers.
