paulhanley Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 ....... the clash of Lancashire sides recently dispensed with by Bolton at the Reebok. Always keen to watch this game. Played pretty rarely but always exceptionally heated and feisty. 1230pm kick off at Ewood on Sunday. The usual police operation will no doubt be launched. Can't stand either of 'em. Never could stand Blackburn and nowadays dislike Burnley due to the bile following the Coyle business (palpable nonsense spouted at the time like "Burnley are a bigger club than Bolton"). Nonetheless, I want Burnley to win. Knew they'd not beaten Wovers for a long time, hadn't realised it was as long ago as 1979! Quote
Traf Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Seeing as they can't both lose, a draw will suffice with some serious injuries to key players. Quote
tomski Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Dislike both but no contest to who I'd rather win. I hope burnleh stuff the chicken botherers on what I'm hoping is a bad week for em. Edited March 13, 2013 by tomski Quote
no balls Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Always keen to watch this game. Fucking hell. If you managed the full 90 the other night, fair fucks to you. Oh and bollocks to them both! Quote
White on Tyne Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Seeing as they can't both lose, a draw will suffice with some serious injuries to key players. Unless by some chance they could both be docked points for fielding an ineligible player. To complement their unintelligable supporters. Quote
fishbulb Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Looks like Roverrs just bombed out of the cup with their tails between their legs. About 10K on too. Poor. Quote
Happy Wanderer Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 8,635 on that's poor anyroad, at least they are out and can concentrate on the league Quote
mannyroad58 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I couldn't give a rats arse, i hope they both bastard loose Quote
royal white Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I tell you what though I wish we had a game that generates as much excitement and passion Quote
Sweep Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I tell you what though I wish we had a game that generates as much excitement and passion I know, it's quite annoying we don't have a proper rivalry with anybody. Bury hate us, but we don't give a toss about them....we hate Man Utd but they don't give a toss about us. At least the hatred between Burnley and Blackburn is proper reciprocal hatred. Quote

Realistically Wigan are by far and away the best candidate for summat along similar lines. We just don't want to admit it (and rightly so given their insignificance up until the last 8 years). Quote
victor meldrew Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 could be wiggin , as they are premier league, far bigger team than us. Quote
darwen_white Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Realistically Wigan are by far and away the best candidate That is from you point of view living in, I presume, Leigh Quote
Salford Trotter Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 The Blackburn game for me was passionate enough particularly after we scored and the seats went flying Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 We're too busy loving to spend energy on hate, loving the Whites and our womenfolk (or menfolk). it even says so in one of our songs. Quote
Traf Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Yes, but no matter how eloquently you express one of our songs, it doesn't make it true. After all, I don't house poultry in a walled enclosure to the rear of my property, nor do any such poultry eat cereal crops from the sub-Continent. Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I don't really give two shiney turds but if I had to pick a team to win this it would be Burnley, they're the away team and that's the only reason why. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 That is from you point of view living in, I presume, Leigh Not necessarily as I don't even know any Latics fans who live here, it was more that they're the only other local club who are in a similar position to us in terms of lacking a 'proper' derby (although I agree it can be tasty enough against Blackburn). Traf Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Where do you keep your chickens then? They're organic & free range, they live in the bottom paddock. Quote
DazBob Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I don't know any Burnley fans but I know 2 Blackburrrn fans. So for that reason, and that reason alone, I'll be hoping Burnley win. Quote
MickyD Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I know fans from both sides. It wouldn't bother me if they both lost but I'll go for a no-score draw just so they've fuck all to cheer. Quote
