DomRepWanderer Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Saw one of the greatest games I have ever witnessed, Bruce Riochs Bolton came back from the brink to beat Reading in the playoff final, that day was the best I have ever felt as a Wanderers fan, amazing weekend. Quote
freds dad Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I was nearly thrown out when we were 2-0 down for fighting with fan behind me who was slagging the team off. There were even folk leaving but the penalty save turned the game. One of my top 5 Bolton games. Quote
Naytch Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I can remember watching the game at home, i was only about 8 at the time and hiding my face when the penalty was taken haha Amazing game. What I would give to be at a game like that now, getting promotion in a thriller like that Quote

Sweep Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I was ready to go of my own accord at 0-2 and a pen to them Me and my mates all said "If this penallty goes in, we're off" and we would have left without a doubt if we had been 3:0 down Quote
tomski Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Best game ever, that save and the whole ground knew we would win. Quote

paulhanley Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 When that pen was missed I actually said "That could be the turning point". Thing is, I didn't actually mean a word of it!! Remember talking at half time about how another season in Division 2 probably wouldn't harm us and we were probably well short of what was required in the Prem..... It was all done with loads of injuries too. Quite a few first teamers were missing that day. Quote
burndenpaddock Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Amazing game. Just as our 3rd goal went in, a big fella was walking up to his seat in front of us, both hands full of pies and fag hanging out of his mouth. He got caught up in the mayhem when we scored and fell over, pies and fag up the air and he cracked his head on the stairs in front of me. I thought he'd done himself some real damage but he started crawling up the stairs, covered in blood, and reached under my chair, picked up his fag, put it in his mouth and joined in the mental celebrations! He spent the rest of the match, covered in pie and a blood soaked tshirt round his head. Proper fan! Quote
burndenpaddock Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I forgot to ask. It didn't look like a balti so I'm guessing meat & potato Quote
anewman Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I was in zambia, didn't know for 6 weeks that we had been promoted Quote
Carlos Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Shit fan. We were up at fucking silly o'clock, vodka and whizz on the way back, JD in Cheers, rest was a bit of a blur. Watched the game again when I got in, tape cut out at 4-2. Chucked up in my bin. Happy days. Quote
tomski Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I was in zambia, didn't know for 6 weeks that we had been promoted That must of been mental? No idea whatsoever? Quote
anewman Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 That must of been mental? No idea whatsoever? nothing at all, in darkest africa deep in a mine, no tv, no radio, no papers, only found out when I got to lusaka airport to fly home when I rang the missus and she told me Quote
