jazza Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 I was engaged to a lass from Stocks Park, Horwich... Medway Drive to be precise and she used to work Saturdays so I was at a loose end. Her brother and still great mate Dave was persuaded to take me to the football against his wishes I suspect but we had a great time and after a while my fiancee was secondary to Wanderers fixtures Quote
paulhanley Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 First taken on by my Dad some time in 1976. First proper memory was the middle of the chaos against Chelsea on the Lever End in 1977. Only really started watching the game itself from August 1977 when my Dad decided we would go in the Manny Road stand instead of the Lever End. Probably as a result of the aforementioned incident! So ... that's 37 years of Bolton Wanderers supporting. Quote

freds dad Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 My first game was in 1970. Anne Wardle who was a staunch Wanderer and lived down the road persuaded my mum that I would be okay to go with her and her son who was 9 and a year older than me. We used to stand on the Lever End and after a season or so we started going to away matches on coaches from the travel shop next door to the Black Horse in Kearsley. All in all I've been watching us through thick and thin for 43 years. What could I have down with all that money? Quote

SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 You guys have all made me feel super young... First game was Man City at Burnden Park, August 20th 1996. 1-0 win, Frandsen with the only goal. Was never really into footy before that, but I guess I'd "followed" Bolton for a while. Quote
