Ghana White Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/AttendanceStats/0,,10794,00.html Sixth in away attendances eleventh in home. Not bad, impressed with Sheffield United. Not that it counts for anything. Quote
marple whites Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Some good stats there - not surprised most away average was peterboro due to it being terracing. Also, Sheff Wed is relatively cheap and always get a big allocation. Is there anywhere that shows what clubs took to each away game ? Quote

COYW Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 In 1976/77 only one club would have been above us in the home attendances table. Bonus points for anyone who knows the answer. Quote

COYW Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) Chelsea? It was indeed Chelsea who were champions of the old Second Division that season. We finished 4th with bigger attendances than any of the other promoted clubs, including Forest. We were one of the best supported teams in the country that season, with higher average attendances than half the teams in the old First Division. Edited July 4, 2013 by COYW Quote

Was a pure guess after Googling the Second Division that year (turns out it was Wolves who won the league, Chelsea were promoted in second). Quote

You're right! Wolves did win the title but Chelsea had the biggest average attendances. We had three attendances of over 30,000 that season in the old Second Division, not to mention an attendance of over 50,000 for the League Cup semi-final second leg. Those were the days! I suppose the answer is that we lost a generation of fans in the 1980s. Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) Full away averages for last season. Not too shabby. (Edit - This is taken from another forum, just noticed it doesn't replicate the Football League figures. But this one shows our average to be higher so... ) Edited July 4, 2013 by bwfcdan Quote

Guest bwfcdan Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Only issue with the above table is it doesn't take into account the 4,000 or so we took to Blackburn. Quote

I think its done by people who post on that site, dunno how accurate that would make it. Im presuming the 4114 that it gives on the highest away attendance must be Blackburn. Quote
