magic legs Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Lager £1.65 a pint in the Duncan in Leeds. Can anyone beat that? Quote
Con Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Was wandering along the Bradshawgate "strip" before, most along there seemed to have offers for daytime drinkers, average seemed to be around 1.85 Quote
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted July 4, 2013 Site Supporter Posted July 4, 2013 Hmm Is that even possible? Quote
EyesRight Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 £1 at academy in Preston on Mondays. I once drove and it was £2.50 for a coke, I left the car and got bladdered. As far as consistent pricing, £1.65 takes some beating. Quote

Walkden26 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 went in Springbok in Middlesboro before and after the game last season - £1.20 a pint of Fosters. San Miguel at £2.20 didn't sell with the locals because it was to "expensive". Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Not in fooking Scotts that's for sure. Always shit ale as well. Quote
Danny G Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 the Flute and Elephant and Castle usually have shite lager for about 1.50 Quote
bolton va va Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 The pub right outside Darlington station used to be really cheap. Even cheaper though, was Darton Working Men's Club, just outside Barnsley...a few months after we were there, the local vicar got done for drink driving. Quote
leigh white Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Paid a quid last week for a pint of Theakstones in the Boer's Head in Leigh. Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted July 5, 2013 Site Supporter Posted July 5, 2013 3 pubs in Blackburn bang out cheap booze at similar prices - Last Orders and Zy Bar not far from train station and the old Times bar opposite King Georges Hall Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I remember staying in my local because it was too dear in town during the 80's, how times change. They should change it back and get the locals busy again, £2 a pint Monday Club in the Black Horse for some lager and bitters, bottles are cheaper too Quote
tomski Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 You have a much better way with words than me. I was going with the softly softly approach. Quote

Last orders in Darwen was good last season for rovers game, 3 Jaegerbombs for a fiver, they ran out of jäger after about half an hour. Quote

magic legs Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 All pile in for Leeds away? You wouldn't want to go in the Duncan. Just another 150 yards and its more like £5-6 a pint in Brewdog. It was Whites Man's round and he only got halves in. Quote

You can get a 22 gallon keg of lager from a wholesaler for the equivalent of less than 60p per pint. A litre of spirits is £16 in Asda and you get 40 shots from it. You can still make money in the pub game, if you work at it. Quote
EyesRight Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Who were drinking them? Everyone it seemed, I got one of the last ones. Then all your lot moved on to aftershock Quote

You can still make money, but if you're tied into a brewery then it makes it quite tough. Mother-In-Law runs a local pub, and the brewery (Greene King) take this piss with their prices. They've even started supplying the shorts and bottles in specially marked bottles, to stop pubs buying booze from Asda, Tesco etc (part of the lease agreement is that they have to buy all alcohol from the brewery) Anyway, a secret stash of booze and some bottles of beer out the back, and not ringing cash into the till between midnight and 02:00 would be a good way of ensuring a decent profit is made every Friday and Saturday, whilst also ensuring that I get a very cheap evening out.........not that she does that of course........ Sounds like the Founders. Anything out of the tap goes into the till ... the cans out of the fridge, into his little tin. Quote
tomski Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 The bloke who owns the blue boar said something similar. Got out of the brewery deal knocked 50p off the pints. Now that pub does well. Quote
