Baisicaly we have 2 shit centre halves (and the options of Mills and Reams doesnt fill me with confidence) with only 2 weeks to transfer window shutting, I think we need to bring 2 CH in, or God forbid move Baptiste into the middle and bring in Mears at RB

Baptiste is too small to play centre back behind Spearing and Medo.

I'd rather have Knight than Wheater but that says more about Wheater then Knight

I can't believe how bad Wheater was against Reading, he was pub league standard on the deck and got battered in the air by their centre halves at set pieces

Putting Knight's mistakes down to him worrying about his partner is pure fantasy though and a quite ridiculous leap

The whole situation is very worrying

See I'm almost completely with you, but I genuinely think that having a crap partner can lead to more mistakes. I never said that Wheater was entirely responsible for Knight's mistakes. However, we HAVE seen Knight play well next to a solid partner, on more than one occasion. Is it really that ridiculous a leap? I know my wing play suffers incredibly when I'm playing ahead of a weak fullback.

Let's say, for example, that defender A moves across to the right slightly as he's concerned defender B is going to be put under pressure from a particular player. As such, the striker attacking defender A has more space to play, which makes defender A look like he's not playing as well. This could be made even worse if defender A is made captain and feels he's responsible for the whole team...

Astley, come on Knight and Wheater (at the moment) are both terrible. That first goal was unforgiveable on Saturday from Knight (whilst acknowledging the other defender also let him sail past after his error). I'm not one for scapegoats, I honestly believe team will be better once he has gone. Freedman has inherited Wheater, Knight, Ream & Mills. He cannot afford to replace all of them at moment. I do not agree that any of them are good enough for a top championship side. Wheater is painfully slow, Knight is Knight, Ream is not strong enough and Mills has only played like a clogger & hoofer for us. It may just be that with a Dawson type player Knight is the best option at moment but it isn't really saying much at all for our options defensively. (Ream & Knight together Jesus it doesn't bear thinking about).

Not complete bollocks, but not applicable either.

Good article and its been plain to see for a long time knight is garbage in the air and a fairy to boot positional average to poor offers nothing in the opposition box and I've never see the captain gee up anybody or organise those around him poor management if DF does not slit his throat soon. If we can't get Dawson lets have a wise old head who can sort the organisational side of it before its too late.

Just seen the goals for the first time Forest were gifted the goals the defensive line way too high especially with no pace at centre back, the goals came down our left our fullback was too narrow and no pressure, looks like a back 4 with no cohesion or organisation. I that all week they are working on organisation and positioning, who is the defensive coach? Can gumbo shed any light on it because from what little I've seen its non existent.

I noticed the same at Burnley, Shrewsbury and Forest, Tierney really tucks in when we are defending, maybe he is supposed to I don't know, but the number of undefended crosses and attacks down that side is significant

Maybe that's what the plan is get narrow get compact deal with the cross when it comes in, the problem is the 2 centre halfs are way too high up the pitch the balls going in behind the full back the wide man is getting to the by line and pulling it back and are 2 centre halfs are chasing back with there back to the opposition instead of facing them to make the block or challenge, defend like that all season and we will be bottom half. And whatever casino or freedman spout there is no excuse for seasoned pros and in particular that zombie captain who's proved time and time again he cannot fuckin defend to save his sorry arse.

Go on enlighten us Enzo? Tierney shares the blame he's a good pro and has a part to play in the shambles.

Aye, they all share the blame to a certain extent, but others are far more culpable for Saturday's goals. I've said what I think further back in the thread if you can be arsed.

Or you can save yourself the bother and take it as read that it's a lot of blather and horseshit!

but has anyone seen the Spearing video on the day he signs?

Is it me or do Spearing and Mills completely ignore each other?

That does seem a touch odd ... and pretty darn obvious.  The two don't even look at each other.

Unless, of course, they'd already said their hellos off camera beforehand.
