anewman
Interesting article in the sun, no fight in the team, strange team selection De ja vu Coyle ruined muamba by not playing him then stuck him in the team against spurs when not match fit
passmosster
Wigan fan on the radio said it all went wrong because they needed "continuity" after Martinez, but Coyle wanted to change things. Made me laugh. If they want continuity, they should go for Sandy Stewart to complete the job Coyle started. .

Guest Blixa
I don't think I've noticed before but Nixon looks like he could be a close relative of Bolton's top boy Cliff Morris It's the pie diet and the less-than-manly hairdo.
DazBob
Coyle ruined muamba by not playing him then stuck him in the team against spurs when not match fit Hmmm. I think there are a lot of things we can blame Coyle for, but nearly killing Muamba isn't one of them. You could argue that playing him at White Hart Lane actually saved his life. Had he been rested for that game and then collapsed at a different ground, where there was no heart surgeon in the crowd and no specialist hospital so close, then he'd have most likely died permanently. Moderators Casino Posted December 3, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 3, 2013 Another Wigan fan " A guy nr the away end in the West stand shouted just before half time " taxi for Coyle , blue star are on their way" . Coyle mouthed back :- "f*** off", " good for him he's just risen the tiniest notch

He's going mad about Espinoza not being in the team and he question coyle on it numerous times. Please please please tell me this Espinoza is a holding midfielder? Traf
In fact, I read somewhere last week that Coyle had Espinoza acting as a ball-boy during 5-a-side in training, whilst Coyle himself was playing! I'll try to find it.

Moderators Zico Posted December 3, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 3, 2013 Uncle Dave " "Sometimes you get lucky and get a great manager like Roberto, Sometimes you get a manager that doesn't get on with you, the players, the fans" Pauses, thinks about it "Owen was one " did he say that? doesn't say much for Whelan, he fucking appointed him! juewanderer
A slightly biased article from Nixon http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/dave-whelan-wants-find-new-2877234 He's blocking everyone on twitter The veteran chief claimed Coyle forced the issue, but MirrorSport can also reveal that coach Graham Barrow was told he would be in charge before the chairman and manager argued. Whelan said: “I had a meeting after the game and told him I was disappointed with the performance and the team selection. Owen asked if I wanted him to resign and I said yes.” Now Whelan wants to hire a young coach and find his next Roberto Martinez. He may even consult the former Latics chief about the vacancy. Whoever gets the job should be off to a better start than Coyle. When he arrived in the summer there were not enough players for a five-a-side match. Coyle walked into a club left devastated not just by relegation from the Premier League but a lack of forward planning. No keepers, one defender, two strikers who were on their way out and seven midfielders – one soon to follow Martinez to Everton and two carrying injuries Strange one this, how long did they give Martinez! MalcolmW
Is Mike Pollitt not a 'keeper? He was out of contract, but given a further 12 months (presumably by OC, who loaned him out to Barnsley for a month once he had cover).
COYW
Whelan has a track record in publicly questioning team selections. He was interviewed last season after they'd lost and said that he wasn't happy with the team Martinez had picked and he'd be speaking to him about it. Maybe he should appoint himself manager and show them how it should be done.
