But turned out to be completely bobbins...

Neil Cox and Robbie Elliot.

I thought we had seriously made the big time when signed them.

One broke his leg in his 4th game, one had curly hair and was shit.

Remember being really excited when we signed Nakata, didn't do much in the end which was disappointing.

Cox wasn't that bad was he?  We've had worse.

Jardel was the one I got really excited about.  Fuck me, this was one of the most lethal strikers in Europe. How on earth had we managed to sign him??

... then, when I saw him waddle onto the pitch that first time, I understood how.

Aye, good shout on Nakata.  Another massive profile player.

All I can remember from his time here was a goal from a free kick and getting sent off at Blackburn.  Think he retired to be a fashion designer after he left us didn't he?  Think he was only around 30.

Walker and all the big names of Sams time Youri, Jay-Jay etc. The one that didn't quite come off would be Jardel, I just had visions of this guy that won the golden boot every year and league glory was almost a certainty.

Spaz beat me too it.

The middle one. although I can't quite recall if he were bobbins or he just rarely played for us. Think he did alright back in spain for a season or so when he left us (but i could have made this up).

I'm still haunted by that man city away game which jardel played in when all the city fans were wolf whistling him and giving him limp wristed waves. Truly embarrassing.

Will never forget his diving header he scored in the cup vs Walsall?? maybe somebody else.

Was like slow motion watching him get down to head it

Ricardo Vaz Te the next worldwide superstar wonderkid. Even had to use a false name for him until we had signed him iirc

Remember first time I saw him play and he was like a new born giraffe, could barely fucking stand up never mind play football.
