No. The Dublin Regulation enables a state to return an asylum seeker in the first Member State where he transited (so-called readmission). This provision was put to put pressure on border states, so that they exercise better control on the external borders of the EU. If they enter the UK via the Channel Tunnel or a cross-channel ferry they are certainly not the UK's problem. There may reasonably be cases where this can be waived where specialist medical care is needed, but generally we allow other members (generally France) to dump on us. If they were fearing for their lives any one of these would do but they carry on until they get here. I dont know why, and would love to ask them.
