Them Refugee Camps In Calais

no balls

Recommended Posts

They live in scabies-ridden dens made of tarp and pallets, in fucking France to boot, just on the off-chance, whilst risking life and limb on a wagon axle, they can get into the UK.

Then again that camp was dubbed Little Syria, so dossing down there was probably infinitely preferable to returning to (big) Syria.

I doubt there's any of us who know how shitty their lives must've been for them to have ended up living in those camps.

I'm sure there'd not be many hard-faced enough to actually sit there face-to-face with them, listen to the stories behind why they fled their homelands, and then simply tell them to "go home".

So we've to take every fucker in?

Fair enough, let's get boats laid on then.

I think I've turned into my grandmother.

No.

The Dublin Regulation enables a state to return an asylum seeker in the first Member State where he transited (so-called readmission). This provision was put to put pressure on border states, so that they exercise better control on the external borders of the EU.

If they enter the UK via the Channel Tunnel or a cross-channel ferry they are certainly not the UK's problem. There may reasonably be cases where this can be waived where specialist medical care is needed, but generally we allow other members (generally France) to dump on us. Yet another example of formulating rules but not implementing them.

I certainly wouldn't be excited enough to start a ' the buggers back' Fred.

Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. Its just a topic I don't think that's played out very well on here.

You might not like how it's played out but the fact is, they've passed the whole of France & possibly other countries to try & come here. Why? As I say, even the apparently left wing BBC (world news) were showing little empathy in their reporting.

The issue is that they have to cross many, many friendly countries that pose no danger at all before getting here.

If they were fearing for their lives any one of these would do but they carry on until they get here.

I dont know why, and would love to ask them.

I will credit Farage for getting people thinking this is a far bigger issue than it actually is.

Indeed as no one even thought about it before he came on the scene. Maybe you need to give folk a little more credit in their ability to think for themselves
