It looks like Newcastle are going to be the next oil club. They'll have to pay the top players bigger suitcases full of cash than City to live in that climate.

Could be another team to challenge you for the 4th spot in the future.

Ronaldo half a million a week- good player obviously, but £26m per year, kinell.

Usually these ludicrous sums are underwritten by merchandise sales but The Ego covers that in his contracts & takes a large chunk.

Other justifications include bigger gates, nope. More publicity, nope. Resale value, nope. Great player but crazy decision. Especially when the manager leaves him on the bench.

Or let’s the skipper sky a penalty over the bar. 🤣

Can’t do that anymore since Tevez and mascherano have to be transparent especially if you’re on the stock exchange. His wage is his wage, no hidden payments , bonuses are declared

China tried it and the government clamped down on it.

There’s a reason la liga is in dire straits, why Real signed with Microsoft for their stadium naming rights then some of the players signed huge endorsement contracts to be the face of Microsoft.

It’ll be the reason Barca are summoned to explain why their financial emails only go back 90 days 👀

OK. Ta. Every day a schoolday.

90 day email retention. Like that can't be circumvented by forensics.

Question:

Are these overseas footballers paying UK income tax or is their wage being taxed where they declare they live?

Where they play. Something about the percentage of the year where they reside

United currently sell aroun 3 -3.5 million shirts a year.

They would need to up that to around 15 million a year to pay the extra increase for Ronaldos wage.

(Their contract with Adidas pays them a huge wedge up front (750m ?) and not much per unit shifted).

They are not counting on merchandising.

Another difficult game today after bossing first half but well say it quietly.

We are top of the league......

Congratulations!  Lowe seems like the real deal, been doing a great job for a while now, and with the difficulty of attracting players to move down to Plymouth, it can't be easy.
