theres been a few at united that have disproved that

Good point, well made.

I guess there’s also been those who managed on a tight budget but couldn’t replicate when given a blank cheque.

The story of Salernitana is quite remarkable nearly going to the wall and being 12 points from safety.

Sad for Cagliari as they are a Serie A mainstay and hopefully them and Genoa can bounce back quickly.

read this if you're into your itallian stuff mate

Wife's family in a state of delirium. They can't quite believe it. Keep seeing their banner (Torriones) at the Arechi when the games are shown. Only a few weeks back they were resigned to Serie B next season.

Over there in 4 weeks - they'll still be fucking celebrating! Dread to think what the atmosphere will be like in the Alba di Luna bar with a few of the GSF (Granata South Force). Expecting a few hangovers!

Haha hope they enjoyed. Great story ball round.

Poor old Davide Nicola has some walk to be getting on with too.

In other news annoyingly Milan deserved the title in the end and 3 different winners in last 3 years bodes well for the rejuvenation of Calcio.

Fair point. Obviously the family over there identify as Campanians and see Napoli as the flagship for the region. Local rival yes but they would all love Napoli to get there eventually instead of having to self award the spoof 'Campione del Sud' scudetto most years. Of course, they only do this to wind up the northern giants and the two Roman clubs and it works a treat!

Haha.

Was hoping Napoli would do it with Insigne moving on but that home form isn’t gonna win you anything but seeing the ground full again was great to see.

I reckon Kloop is better

undeniably Guadiola is a great and I'm not saying otherwise - he takes already very good teams at the top and makes them better in his own way

Klopp though reinvents them - Dortmund and Liverpool were bumbling along when he rocked up and he turns them into title challengers/winners

he's taken Liverpool to the final game in every competition this season

he may or may not win it next season, but when Guadiola does one, Liverpool will dominate the lot whilst he's there

I just think they are both good at what they do. Man City can now be classed as dominant though after winning 4 of the last 5. Takes some doing that when Liverpool push them as far as they do.

oh aye, they certainly are

but I would like to see Guadiola take on a team that's not already the best in their country, to see if he could build up a squad of winners like Klopp has

interestingly I just found this, the first squad the Klopp put out

compare that to Guadiolas

Only Spurs, Brentford and Brighton have British owners (or have owners with majority shareholdings that are British)

all the rest are foreign.

Liverpool - American club

City - UAE club

Manu - American Club

Leicester - Thai

etc….

So the “foreign money” claim that scouse nonces have is an argument that’s thick as fuck given they are owned by an American investment manager.

Wait until Newcastle get properly spending in a couple of years….

There is a difference in an American Investment Fund and a front for sportswashing for regimes that murder folk for having a different opinion.

Newcastle, Man City, PSG and formerly Chelsea - all drink from the same tainted pot.

No one is saying Fenway sports are a charity, but a bloke who inhereted his cash from Soyabeans and a royal family who like chopping up journalists is slightly different. Its not foreign investment that is the issue, its who and why they are investing.

I mean look at this touching photo;

Doesn't really work like that though.

See United and half a Billion Everton for example.

aye

and for all Chelsea's billions spent, whilst they've won stuff, there was only really Mouriunho who took them to the next level

which is what we're talking about here (well I am anyway, next level shit)

Klopp will be off to city when Pep goes.

Huge offer to Liverpool, and he'll look enviously at city's current riches with the addition of whoever else comes in this season (Haaland for example) and think bugger this, I'm off for a bit of Saudi oil cash whilst it's available.

I really don't think that'd happen personally

And FWIW he recently signed a new deal

I think he's looking forward to a Pepless City

Aye, the Fuorigrotta is something else when full. First time I ever went was in 1977 in the middle of the 'off' season. Deserted stadium with grass very long and loons driving around the stadium in Fiat 500's with the roof rolled back waving flags and chanting. In the middle of the closed season! When it comes to fanaticism, they are in a different league.
