Our lot started all the trouble in Madrid when we played Athletico.

Didnt make it right for their old bill be twatting innocent folk with batons.

Course it doesn't. I remember a GMP officer after our visit to Madrid being interviewed and saying the Spanish police were bang out of order- yet no inquiry, court cases etc.

Some of these forces don't need much hassle to start wielding weapons.

Those starting shit therefore need to look at themselves before laying the blame elsewhere and attempting to absolve themselves. Seems to be the Liverpool way.

Always those innocents caught in the middle that suffer.

Spot on. Those just moaning about Liverpool fans have a grudge and dislike.

Madrid's entrance to the ground was very different.

Anyway, kids, and people just queuing to get into the ground should not be teargassed and peppersprayed and if they are that's a failure of the organising and policing of the event.

Funny that, as events have been going on at the stadium without any problems. Different sports etc and nothing like this.

Quite simply, if Liverpool fans didn't behave in this way, no one would particularly dislike them.

The fact that Liverpool had a parade on the anniversary of Heysel says everything to me..... No class, no remorse & absolutely zero self awareness.

100%. They are self regarding hypocrites of the highest order and that's why they are so disliked

That's a million miles away from what actually happened. But don't let your bias stop you from reasoned thought.

Aren't most opinions based on perceived bias?

No fake tickets, no jibbing in = no problems.

Remember that the scouse spin machine is well oiled at deflection and finger pointing to distract from its own issues.

They’re a nightmare wherever they go. It’s a massive “I was there” cock swinging competition with them and I have zero sympathy.

I have even seen suggestions that the OTT policing may have had something to do with the pitch invasions in England lately....

Once again, no reasoning, just resort to insults.

Facts are that no previous incidents like this have taken place. Not a difficult thing to understand.

As for Liverpool- I've watched then in finals and supported them like any other English team. Not now however- having witnessed repeated transgressions, they can do one.

I remember the day after the publishing of the Hillsborough Report (the last one) there was a 'phone in on R5Live. Amongst the expected flurry of calls was a chap who was now retired but had previously been the head of security at the port of Dover for many years; anyway he said generally the worst English fans for trying to travel to the continent without tickets and general scamming (we would say jibbing) were Liverpool fans. He was then unceremoniously cut off by the radio host as what he was saying was obviously going against the grain of the conversation and was adding an uncomfortable element to it. At the time I thought it was really unfair and that I bet whoever initially took the call at R5 Live and put it through to the host probably got a right bollocking later.

A lot of historical statements in here on this. Nothing backing up the claims for the game on Sat.

That French bloke who came out and said that shite was a prick and I’m amazed it’s courting favours in some quarters.

Im not for one second suggesting Liverpool had no jibbers/ticketless as we’ve seen wallys on twitter brag about it but the authorities have cocked up big time on this and it’s seems obvious. The French police/organisers being alright is a bit like Boris doing a good job at those evening dos during lock down for me.

Think no one is blameless but squarely blaming Liverpool fans is a tired old narrative now.

Friend of mine was working at the final on Saturday and assured me there were 1000s of fans locked out after the stadium was full. Police definitely have lessons to learn but are we really saying that they need to be prepared for literally any eventuality? Should they really be able to cope with 500,000 Liverpool fans if that’s how many decided to turn up? Because if we are they we should all be expecting far higher tickets prices in future to pay for that resource.

When we played them in the “friendly” final at Wembley in the 90’s, I genuinely had no interest either way in liverpool. My footballing distaste was reserved mainly for Tranmere, United and wolves.

now, having lived amongst them for 20+ years and listening to their constant nonsense, they are for me the most loathsome supporters in the UK.

what’s worse is that I’m a big fan of Klopp, I just wish he was elsewhere.

you'll get the tired old narrative from me until they take some responsibility

once again, its every fucker else

Well you’ve made your mind up. A lot of their fans are dicks and I get you to a degree but the majority have likely been screwed over.

Neil Hart territory brandishing the majority with the minority brush.

Im yet too meet anyone who would be happy queuing 2-4 hours for a match yet either.

Also not met anyone has paid top whack to get in somewhere only to be refused entry by lacklustre organisation to be happy and toodle off home.

have LFC accepted its likely their fans were partly to blame for what went on?

it was as predictable as night following day

No one is saying everything is Liverpool fans' fault - and this clearly seems to be the case here. However, what really annoys people is that time and time again LIverpool fans very rarely take ANY responsibility for anything. If once in a while the people representing them were to say 'we have more than our fair share of dickheads' or even 'we have SOME dickheads' than I think more people would be sympathetic. Instead we have this narrative shoved on us that 'Liverpool fans all good, everyone and everything else bad', and it's aided and abetted by a shit scared media. It's bollocks and we know it.

I also find it a bit odd that all this bad luck just seems to disproportionately follow Liverpool fc around.

Inevitable that some innocents get caught up in the shit. Liverpool fans (or club it seems) never accept or admit that the catalyst for the shit sits squarely at the feet of their own supporters.

Too easy to blame others (UEFA, French Police, stadium staff etc.). Am I sad for innocents with legal tickets and behaving well? Very much so. It's time that those people looked at what causes their grief rather than pointing the finger at the easy targets.
