2 points for a win makes teams put more emphasis on defence.

probably why away goals in two legged cup comps being a tie breaker became a thing.

dont think the backpass rule was a thing at the time either , i wonder the posession time of the goalkeeper (bet its bruce grobblaar levels of pissing about).

I had a flick through their results that season

They had 3 0-0s in a row

Didn't realize it was 2 points for a win, makes more sense now

Watford's 3rd league match of the season tonight.  All 3 switched days for Sky.  Played on both Monday nights and now a Friday night.  I'm annoyed on their behalf and glad that's not us.  And Burnley's first 2 aways switched to Fridays, the curse of the relegated Prem teams.

Fuck 'em, especially Burnley.

they only conceded about 16 goals that season. at least 10 less than other teams.

I remember losing to Brentford in 91/92, Dean Holdsworth played for them. I was gutted. Bad day for the reds and pinks.

My first Bolton game was Southampton 2-2 in the fa cup

Was hooked after a great comeback and electric atmosphere

I mithered my dad to take us again

That was our next game

Bit of a come down
