Ta.

I'm not belittling their achievement and as when a kid I used to rock up at Grundy Hill to watch the RMI I'm not going to ignore what last night means to a whole bunch of people & good luck to them.

Just that I have long been stunned at 2nd & 3rd tier attendances up there & it's the same now in the, laughingly called, Welsh Premier League (in which I played in it's very early days).

... &, yes, if Aberdeen had a perfectly good goal disallowed it's even better.

what was the highest and lowest level you played in wales?

we have a few nights a year in west wales...really should go and watch the local club

Whether Kane wanted to go before, or was pushing for a better deal etc, only he really knows.

What can't be argued is his commitment to them whilst there.

I'm convinced he'd love to stay and win trophies with them, and at 29, there must be a question over whether he'd be quite as successful elsewhere.

not really, he made it clear he wanted to leave, with a transfer request, before agreeing to stay with a gentlemens agreement he could leave the following summer, but seems Levy went back off that as the offer wasn't high enough

all this happened after he'd signed a new contract, so I don't think he was looking to sign another

Fair enough.

I do wonder though, if it had the effect of making the owners sit up and try to help make the team capable of winning trophies.

Must have been a reason why he chose to stay if the main man had gone back on his word. You'd think that would piss him off!

I played West Cheshire League but then joined a team in The Welsh National League (North). So covering Clywd, Gwynedd & a bit of Powys.

The WPL was introduced & (Mold Alex) were put into it. Ecen that could mean extensive travel. Away travel to Barry, Haverfordwest was crackers ... esp. mid-week. So I joined Buckley who were 'just' North but were promoted. So I left joined Cefn Druids .... & guess what !

I then left for a team just playing in North-East Wales ... Clwyd as was.

Seeing a local West Wales club ? Be my guest but frankly I'd not bother. Not if it's for the (lack of) quality.

Fair play to Derby last night for doing what we've done so often.

The bastards!

Haven't lost a league game for 3 months : 8 wins & 6 draws, I think, since this point...

We're 6-5-3 in the same period. I think Derby could still catch one or both of the top 2.

Be impressive if they do having not had a pre season

Tbh Derby ain’t our concern personally

big games against Peterborough & Wycombe away

They're all a concern.

Obviously, to keep ourselves in the playoffs those two are key.

I do think though, that it is vital to keep shooting at those above us. Unlikely as it is that we'll catch them, we'd be kicking ourselves if a couple of them went on a bad run, and we hadn't quite done enough to capitalise.

Towards the end if the season, OK Evatt may think its about consolidation and keeping players fresh, but for now we have to keep trying.

Last twelve I can find a form table for

1. Weds 28

2. Derby 26

3. Argyle 23

6. Bolton 20

7. Ipswich 18

We'll see.

A similar return from the next 12 makes it tight, but whichever way it goes, you've had a great season.
