Funny how your green and gold shit died a death when they started to win things again. Something similar kicks off again when they've now won fuck all for years. Strange how all those Sky Reds an

Personally I think they should stop the striker fannying about with all this hop, skip and jump shite

Agreed.

The keeper is required to keep to strict rules, the taker should be also. It should, once you start, be a smooth continuous process.

No wonder keepers move.

Right I don’t like VAR but the single most infuriating thing about it is keepers moving off their line before the ball is struck.

The defending goalkeeper must remain on the goal line, facing the kicker, between the goalposts, without touching the goalposts, crossbar or goal net, until the ball has been kicked.”

“When the ball is kicked, the defending goalkeeper must have at least part of one foot touching, or in line with, the goal line.”

Okie dokie.

But the penalty taker only has to kick the ball forward,

stuttering run up, fine,

a little skip and a hop like Fernandes at United, fine,

slowed down run ups are fine.

But a keeper has to stay cemented to his line until it’s struck.

How is that fair, a keeper has to jump forward to get strength behind his dive, so he’d have to start behind his line not move until the ball is struck jump forward but not too much and still guess the right way all the time the attacker is fannying about.

There are more penalties since VAR but more stupid rules to prevent a keeper from saving them and microscopic analysis to make sure he’s fully on the line. It’s bollocks

Petr Cech has nailed it

Yebbut, shouldn’t the odds be stacked towards the attacking team?

Surely the reason for a penalty is penalise the defending team.

The infringement has generally been committed to try and prevent a goal, so I’ve no sympathy for any goalie.

What about penalty shoot outs?

Agree with this completely.

No sympathy for any keeper who is penalised for this.

Is shooting from 12 yards not advantage enough?

Is the same VAR process put in to adjudicating a penalty shoot-out? Of course, it should be the same rule for every penalty but a ref is assisted by two others. If between them they can’t make the right decision then what’s the point?

Boring fayre being served up at the Manchester derby.I  suppose it's to be expected from a home midfield including Fred, Pogba and McTominay but for all the money thrown at City they don't have the standard of player they did 2 or 3 years ago

Did City try to keep Silva? He’s a massive loss for me, got a year or 2 left in him at top level yet

I'd have thought so. Kompany and the late 20s version of Aguero haven't been replaced either

Guadiola inherits good teams, he doesn't build them
