Anyone who thinks VAR has been a good thing should look at how many great moments were ruined by it in this game for the sake of the thickness of football shirt material. It's ruining the entertainment aspect. Drove past the ground as the game was going on as I landed at 8.30… impressive site and decent stadium….. lad who I hire car off is British and ST at Hercules.. safe to say he doesn’t like Elche. Unless Levy et al have very deep pockets and are prepared to really speculate, it won't be happening for 3 or 4 years and they won't do it anyway based on their past record. This will be why Conte ends up at another big club on the European mainland sooner or later. I would not be surprised however if he delivers some silverware to Spurs before then. Brilliant coach. City will coast to the title this time around. Doesn't tend to hang around at clubs very long so may not deliver. Not sure if it's his choice or he rubs up owners the wrong way May also depend if Kane decides he wants one more big pay day and a chance to win trophies and decides he's off to Bayern

City will coast to the title this time around. A cup maybe. Even if they had the same resources as the biggest teams, I don't see them winning a league. Looking at the teams that win the leagues regularly over the years, they didn't sit back as a matter of routine. Sometimes Chelsea under mourinho were painted as being a bit defensive, but they scored goals and found a way of winning. Last night Spurs were largely toothless. Disappointing really. Discuss. Agree, but I think a lot of that is to do with how good City are. I could certainly see them coming 2nd but the negative tactics vs big teams seems to be losing its effectiveness. Athletico tried it in the CL vs City. Real eventually won the CL playing not exactly negatively but they were happy to counter. Difference is their whole squad is filled with world class talent. Spurs, Athletico and others isn't.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 20, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted October 20, 2022 I suppose the best way to frame it would be to ask if folk think he could do as well at City as their current manager? I just see that negative trait as being restrictive to achieving the ultimate prize.

Dr. Feelgood
Like ever on a sacking the question is whether the club has already lined someone up, or patience snapped before they could do that. Apparently last night the main board members in the crowd disappeared before the end, presumably to go into a huddle & agree it was over. That suggests no immediate alternative is lined up. They binned him half an hour after the (away)* game, just after he gave a post match interview. Then issued a 41 word statement where the "we thank him for his efforts" bit seemed like an afterthought. Proper harsh. Lovely. *I guess he could afford an Uber home. Or slap it on his closing expenses. He certainly won't have been on the club coach.
