Its 140k plus psv, pcso and specials

And therès less coppers than in 2010

The assertion was that the conservatives should stop cutting numbers, which they have.

That might be psv, never heard of them

'Specials'. They've existing 60+ years & have always been counted in overall statistics.

There is also an army of civilians who work in the police, doing admin & support stuff. Many of these can also be set tasks which support investigative staff & need considerable clearance.

Yep. Off for 2 red cards but refused to go. Apeshit on the pitch until eventually escorted off. Even Scott 'red card' Brown wouldn't defend him.

There's a proper player there for this level, if he stopped the antics.

No, specials are a distinct group in .gov figures

As are pcso

As are psv

My mate is a 50 something copper. I went away with loads of em earlier this year and they have, to a man, had enough

But as they can get unlimited overtime they are sticking out til retirement

I believe that parka clad female detective in the beeb show jacked but is back as a consultant. It was a convo in the early hours so happy to be corrected :)

I also dont think the day 10s of 1000s of them ring in sick is far off

Surely a cop unable, through health or low performance, would be given a period of time to get themselves fit or up their performance level. Failure to do so would result in them losing their job on capability grounds.

I seem to remember Our Bozo assuring us 20,000 new coppers in 2019 on the streets within 3 years.

Im guessing that was another of his dogshit, nonsensical, finger-in-the-air, soundbite flappy cock waving proclamations that didn’t happen?

One would think so, but apparently it's not so straightforward.

What actually should be the first consideration is to look at what internal/office based jobs they could do. Firstly, in a Police role, if not then in a civilian one. Paying them off should be a very last choice.

My daughter worked on the recruitment campaign for a Northern police force and she said that out of every 20 applicants only 1 was suitable because of either having a dodgy background, being as thick as fcuk or couldn’t pass the fitness test.

Love it when United fans get over excited. They won 3-0 against a truly awful Forest team who have already lost 4-0, 5-0 and 6-0 this season. Plus pretty much the entire Forest squad have been sick over the past few days. United played some good stuff tonight but not sure it was much of a yardstick.

My step son has just joined up and fits the 6 foot white bloke tag. Also on the photo of them all starting out he appears not to be on his own.
