I really hate oil rich, repressive states buying football clubs to sportswash their evil regimes but if there's any consolation at all it's reading the panicked, hysterical whinges of the supporters of the "big" clubs

Only getting some of the money back we gave them in return for oil.

Oil which has built our society and way of life.

Ok they may have some highly distasteful customs, but so do the chinese, the Japs were unpleasant not too long ago, the Americans went to war with us, and loads of other places we trade with have dodgy elements.

Couldn't afford to be so picky, unless we were always happy to trundle around on horses pulling carts.

Spurs had one more top 4 finish (7) than Newcastle (6)

That's assuming Newcastle finish top 4 this season

Spurs had a few more top 6 finishes

And been the better over recent seasons

Will probably all change now

Probably a debate best left to Geordie and spurs fans

No football before the prem then.

Not sure about that. The Keegan "would love it" season apart, Spurs have been more regularly in European positions than the geordies.

Red Rog's inference was that Newcastle were only hammering Spurs because of their recently acquired wealth.  Spurs record defeat in the PL was 1-7 to Newcastle.  Newcastle have finished 2nd in the PL.  Both occurred several years prior to the Saudi money.  Historically Spurs are the bigger club but they're both lightyears behind Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Today is the day Harry Kane made his mind up to leave the Spuds.

Funny thing is he could go to utd and still win fuck all

City aren't buying him

He won't go to arsenal

He doesn't want to go abroad

Bet he hates Levy for not selling him to city when they wanted him

He’s a complete muppet if he signs for the rags. May as well stay at Spurs. should move abroad.

Hed be fabulous for Real Madrid.

He’d be ridiculous anywhere I think. Bayern would be good to whack a few trophies in the cabinet and it’s a superb city to live and work in. Real would be good. For same reasons. I dislike both clubs but he can crack on as long as his national team performances keep up.

Not really.

Folk objecting to "nasty" nations being involved.

There will be very few left if you treat all with the same level of scrutiny.

Including ourselves- do we stop British ownership too?

I would think Real Madrid and Manchester United is a harder route to the treble than Real Madrid and Brighton

Wouldn’t it be just beautiful to see them balls up all three. Could all begin come Wednesday. Unlikely though.

Wonder what the odds are on them winning nothing?

Just responding to you and the fellow complainers. Don't comment and I won't need to respond.

Quite kettle and pottish on your behalf too, considering you never cease to criticise goverment and anything that doesn't fit your moral compass at every opportunity, whether justified or not, irrespective of thread.

And again, as is typical, no sensible point, just pointed personal digs. Some might consider that sort of thing bullying behaviour and think folk should lose their job over it.

I base my thinking on what will piss the rags off the most. A City treble win would be lovely.

Tell you what ... Brighton's Mitoma is a player.

I hope he's not 'worked out' in his second season.

Outstanding every time I've seen them play. Brighton have got a really, really good side... I hope they don't get picked apart in the summer by the likes of Liverpool.
