It was working on there that made me realise a Plover (Plover Drive) is a bird. The others, Kestrel, Chaffinch, Kingfisher and Goldfinch etc were a bit more obvious. Quote

I did, I know Baldivis pretty well, it's a very popular suburb and is expanding at an amazing rate. Haven't noticed those street names, I'll keep my eyes open. Quote

Streets named after towns in Northumberland UK I thought with the seemingly strange addition of a 'Peterborough'. According to a bloke in the know they were named after places in Northumberland Ontario. Not for the first time, I was on the wrong tram. Quote

There are a surprising number of us down here y'know. I have told the story before of Clint Bolton playing in goal for what was then the Brisbane Strikers. The Glory walloped them and Bolton had an absolute 'mare. Brought a tear to my eye when the entire Glory Shed (when it was worth taking note of before the local dingleberries took it over after the 'poms' generally deserted when the club brought in OTT orange warriors etc.) chanted 'Bolton, Bolton' for a few minutes either as moral support or, more likely, taking the piss in the "can we play you every week" fashion. I knew something was afoot with the fans that day as I had never seen so many BWFC shirts at a NSL game before or since (now it is the A League). Someone must have organised that BWFC shirts were about that day. Having said that, BWFC were ever so slightly more fashionable at that time so maybe all a pure coincidence. https://www.goal.com/en-ng/match/perth-glory-v-brisbane-strikers/bpzazmbtdyh9ly98i2g80o991 Quote
