In years to come when the memory has passed hope we get places like Shipman Drive, West Street, Hindley Grove, Sutcliffe Close etc

My first place out of my parents was next to Dickie Bird estate in Bury which is one of Bury's sink estates sadly not named after cricket umpires but birds.

It was working on there that made me realise a Plover (Plover Drive) is a bird. The others, Kestrel, Chaffinch, Kingfisher and Goldfinch etc were a bit more obvious.

From the replies..

This is near @perth_white didn't you say you lived in Rockingham?

I did, I know Baldivis pretty well, it's a very popular suburb and is expanding at an amazing rate. Haven't noticed those street names, I'll keep my eyes open.

Know loads of Brits from Baldivis. Wonder if that was the land developers aim to attract them?

Same where I live. Streets named after towns in Northumberland UK  I thought with the seemingly strange addition of a 'Peterborough'. According to a bloke in the know they were named after places in Northumberland Ontario. Not for the first time, I was on the wrong tram.

There's a Bolton fan lives on White Hart Lane in Baldivis. Does FIFO to Karratha.

There are a surprising number of us down here y'know. I have told the story before of Clint Bolton playing in goal for what was then the Brisbane Strikers. The Glory walloped them and Bolton had an absolute 'mare. Brought a tear to my eye when the entire Glory Shed (when it was worth taking note of before the local dingleberries took it over  after the 'poms' generally deserted when the club brought in OTT orange warriors etc.) chanted 'Bolton, Bolton' for a few minutes either as moral support or, more likely, taking the piss in the "can we play you every week" fashion.

I knew something was afoot with the fans that day as I had never seen so many BWFC shirts at a NSL game before or since (now it is the A League). Someone must have organised that BWFC shirts were about that day. Having said that, BWFC were ever so slightly more fashionable at that time so maybe all a pure coincidence.

Bury sold over 4k for tomorrow’s game against Glossop, they must be buzzing

Only 2 stands currently have a license for full capacity, main stand will be partly open and Manchester Rd closed, so with pay on the day they should get maybe 6k?
