Just put the Nigeria South Africa semi on.

So few in attendance; it's like a pizza cup game.

Given as 32k

Unpopular opinion (or maybe bang on)

Afcon is like the Saudi league. Teams have 2 or 3 ballers each and the rest are dogshit.

It's a fucking betting minefield! 🤣

I've quite enjoyed it though. Seen about 30 mins of 5 or 6 games. They've all had some batshit drama.

I've barely seen any of it- just flicked it on today, and didn't think that much of the quality.

Apart from some Tarzan-esque drumming the atmosphere was shite too.

Gael Kakuta, ex Wanderer, has just been subbed off in the semi final of an international competition.

Some bloke who missed a penalty in the other semi had the first name "Evidence".

Marcos Alonso.

Tim Ream.

Rodrigo.

All shit.

I don't know if this is in reply to me or not..

Gael Kakuta - loving random players finding their way

He is literally another one of them players we had too early.

Some bloke named "Evidence" is peak Afcon though.

so, who's gone on to have the best career after leaving us? alonso?

There have been a few who did ok.

Cahill and Nolan spring to mind.

love nolan, but not for me here

Fiorentina, Chelsea and Barcelona - I think Alonso might take it, that’s some resume. Certainly didn’t see it coming when he was with us!

Probably Cahill

He was playing in and winning the CL straight after leaving us

Alonso got their eventually but via Fiorentina and Sunderland

as somebody who still says alonso couldnt defend for toffee which wasnt ideal in our team, id say hes gone much further realtive to his bolton levels than anybody else

cahill was already playing for england

Amazed you haven’t said McAteer

He’s just hoping to sneak Connor Bradley in there in a year or two 😁

I think there’s an argument for Gudjohnsen in terms of the player that arrived and ending up at Barcelona etc

Cahill was already heading for the top so not much of a surprise really

Alonso must be the most unlikely. A ridiculously huge turnaround for someone who was getting torn apart in the Championship.

Alonso was great going forward when he was being covered by a world class back three.

But, as suggested, he could also get ripped to bits by a second division right winger.
