stevieb Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Unpopular opinion (or maybe bang on) Afcon is like the Saudi league. Teams have 2 or 3 ballers each and the rest are dogshit. It's a fucking betting minefield! 🤣 I've quite enjoyed it though. Seen about 30 mins of 5 or 6 games. They've all had some batshit drama. Quote

I've barely seen any of it- just flicked it on today, and didn't think that much of the quality. Apart from some Tarzan-esque drumming the atmosphere was shite too. Quote

Some bloke who missed a penalty in the other semi had the first name "Evidence". Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Marcos Alonso. Tim Ream. Rodrigo. All shit. Quote

Gael Kakuta - loving random players finding their way He is literally another one of them players we had too early. Some bloke named "Evidence" is peak Afcon though. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 They're all in the bracket of being condemned as shite whilst here. Ridrigo perhaps not quite as much, but he wasn't a regular under the stewardship of the great one. Quote
L/H White Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 so, who's gone on to have the best career after leaving us? alonso? Quote

MickyD Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 I wish I was a fiver behind him in earnings since leaving Bolton. Quote

Eddie Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Fiorentina, Chelsea and Barcelona - I think Alonso might take it, that’s some resume. Certainly didn’t see it coming when he was with us! Quote

Casino Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 as somebody who still says alonso couldnt defend for toffee which wasnt ideal in our team, id say hes gone much further realtive to his bolton levels than anybody else cahill was already playing for england Quote

A ridiculously huge turnaround for someone who was getting torn apart in the Championship. Quote
Casino Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 That day when he pretended to be injured when duff screwed him into the pitch Quote
tomski Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 I liked Alonso. He’s had a cracking career, with pinnacle playing for us. Regardless the don is Eidur Quote

Steejay Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Alonso was great going forward when he was being covered by a world class back three. But, as suggested, he could also get ripped to bits by a second division right winger. Quote
