Johnnyrotten Posted February 8 Posted February 8 A bit random but on 5 Live earlier (Patrick Kielty) they had a band (Suncharmer) playing accoustic versions of football chants, as requested by listeners. I think they only did 2 in the end, one was very impressive ditty about that Orient winger Archibald that plays well against us, and the other was "Ronan Darcy is a blue, is a blue.....he hates Bolton". Well we don't get many mentions on national radio so we'll take anything, but just a heads up to expect that to be their main song when we go there on 1st April. Quote

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 9 Site Supporter Posted February 9 Sapped. Makes you wonder how Plymouth concede so many; no doubt Genie will be along soon. Typical scouser though: trying to steal the ball, but the ref spotted it. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Plymouth can quickly move over, Queen’s Park have just won at Ibrox, even with the obligatory 95th minute Rangers penalty! Edited February 9 by Leyther_Matt Quote
Big E Posted February 9 Posted February 9 We all know Scottish football is great though. Arfield got a hat trick 😂 Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Well done Plymouth, great performance. But as a neutral, just out to enjoy the spectacle whatever the score was, it feels a bit flat made worse by the ITV commentators over-reacting trying to make out a championship side had beaten the European and Premier League champions-elect. They didn't, it was a shadow of their team, that a lot of championship teams would have probably beaten. Slot wasn't arsed about this game, and so they lost, no surprise. If it was us I'd be shouting from the rooftops, but I'm a neutral and feel a bit sad for the FA Cup. PS I used to love Chiesa playing for Italy a few years ago, he's looked well past when I've seen him this season. Edited February 9 by Johnnyrotten Quote
gonzo Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I've loved the FA cup this weekend. Leyton Orient pushing city and that goal. That Brum Toon match was as FA cup as it gets. Foggy, freezing, blood and thunder and mad atmosphere. Ace. I headed every ball for Plymouth then. Love it. Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 9 Site Supporter Posted February 9 It is a bit disappointing when a top team plays kids. Sometimes though, they do win, and there was a sprinkling of first teamers in there too. Their fans may be disappointed too. Fuck em though. Quote

I agree with all of that about Orient, Birmingham etc - I enjoyed what I saw of those games too. Villa-Spurs too had a great atmosphere and intensity. I just felt a bit flat when I heard the Liverpool team news, it was like, oh so they aren't really up for it then. So I'm less up for it (relatively, I've only got it on in the background, not exactly based my day around it!). And Exeter v Forest being on Tuesday, what a piss take, same night as all those champions league games and a virtual full programme of EFL games too. Quote
