We spent the entire match lumping it to le fondre because Parkinson didn’t know what to do. When madine left in January we spent the next 5 months shelling it to Sami Ameobi because he was over 6 foot. Horrific tactics. Horrific manager. Plenty ex players have come out and exposed him for what he is and he’ll he found out soon enough when Wrexham aren’t the big spenders anymore and the bow wave effect dies down. He hid behind the troubles at board level for months. And was a massive factor in some of the darkest days and ‘performances’ this club has even seen. He can do one People putting too much store in what Parky will do in the championship. The job he had was to get promoted there and he has done it. Wrexham will then have the option to replace him in the championship if things aren't going well. I'd rather Evatt had done a Parky and focused on getting out of league 1 more than having a championship style team in league one. Quote

Proved himself early doors, but he definitely had the advantage of a superior squad with us, and also with Wrexham. Certificate did well with what he had to work with, and no argument there. I'm not so sure he would have done what Evatt did with us though; from absolutely fuck all-not a pot to piss in- to challenging at the top of league one. All supposition anyway, we can never know. Aye I fully expected him to get us promoted with that team He almost ballsed it up and it should never have gone to the last day when he kept us up, but he did Then he did the best he could when the club was falling apart We can only go off what we know, He's a good effective manager who gets the job done A poor man's Neil Warnock maybe But he knows what he's doing and how to do it, repeatedly Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Bit concerning having these former Bury players managing us! Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Dull first half. Forest seem awestruck by the occasion. Struggling for possession and some poor body language. City so much in control that they could lose focus and cop for an unexpected equaliser. Hopefully Forest come out in a different mood. Quote

Aye, bang on I suspect he's probably surpassed expectations getting them up in second at the first attempt The bookies certainly didn't have them as favourites for top two Evatt has built a team of flat track bullies who don't like it up em Parky has instilled a get the job done winning mentality I know which I'd rather have next season Quote

Couldn’t fail to get promoted with that team and wage bill. The next 2 seasons were up there with the worst I’ve seen. Not all his fault but he did nothing to earn his corn. Quote

Struggle to keep the missus calm today. Looking at the run in, I'd rather have Napoli's fixtures than Inters. Should be in Napoli in September. Wish it was May! Will be mental again if they win the scudetto. Marked down 10th May in the calendar for Benfica v Sporting. What a match that promises to be. Quote
Roger_Dubuis Posted April 28 Posted April 28 The Liverpool fans setting off blue flares that had been repackaged as red flares was a wonderful prank by the Everton fan. Also interesting that the semi final crowd yesterday was 6,000 less than the Bolton v Plymouth gate Quote
tomski Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I think I heard that Man City have been 30 times in 14 years. That’s ridiculous if so. Quote

Aye, and obviously a big chunk of those visits will have been for semi finals. Always has been and always will be bollocks that semi finals are played there. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Perfectly well thanks. Largely rational comments early in the season. Liverpool did well, fair play to them. For the majority; whether they want a particular team to win it, they aren't really that arsed. Their only real focus is the one team they support: the whites. Quote
