Site Supporter MickyD Posted February 2, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted February 2, 2015 So offer your services to the club as an economics guru. I'm sure the club doesn't throw a dart at a board and charge whatever number it lands in. They'll really know what number will work, not forgetting y that both clubs need to agree the set price. Gonk
Depends how early you're talking. Even 9 years after moving we managed to get just short of 25,000 vs Fulham (24,919 on 11th Feb 2007). What was the pricing strategy for that game?

Adlington White
The "extra" fans at £15 wouldn't equal the current revenu total at 20k times £26. I think if people really want to go to the game £9 wouldn't make a difference, personally. If it was £10 it might add a few more but we still probably wouldn't sell out. If people want to go, I they will go regardless of price IMO

Drew Peacock
Oh and then Megson arrived and that certainly killed a lot of the enthusiasm. Around where we sit in the ESU I know of at least a dozen fans who stopped going in Megson's time and never came back.

Mounts Kipper
Villa league cup semi. I don't think the Uefa cup or the Villa Semi-final sum our fans up those games were on TV and that makes a difference I'd guess there were 1000s of Bolton fans watching these games at home or in the pub, many of our fans don't get that supporting your club is about putting your cash through the turnstile and it's the same fans who moan we don't spend money. I've said it before our latent support is large, and it takes something monumental to motivate them to get of their arses, and a fixtures live on TV won't motivate them to buy a ticket. Is been mentioned a couple of times in his thread already but wait to see how many stay dormant if we got to a final. I mm not sure the semis would have the same draw following the previous one. Anderson
Sounds like the bin dippers are thinkiing of resting a few for this, which I'd be surprised by. But if they want to play Lovren, Lambert, Johnson and Enrique then that's fine by me... Honestly though, if Rodgers drops Sterling, Markovic and any other pace then he really is a mug. Take out sterling,Gerard and Sturridge and we should at least give them a game. Gutted we've no physical presence up front and Pratley also a big miss. Anderson
Hopefully Craig will be fit, doubt we would have loaned Wilkinson out if he wasn't? Pratley is a massive miss so it'll fall on Trotter I'd imagine to actually put himself about a bit at a pace that totals more than 2 knots

That's what I was thinking, easiest run to silverware they'll ever have if they don't mess about. But at the same time, they've got two very big games up next and very close together, I'm just hoping they make the mistake of underestimating us, especially with the injuries. davidjack
I've said before, the deals for kids - and not just under 16s but the slightly older category of under 21s - are spot on and the club should be applauded. It's not really possible to prove either way how many more would be tempted by £15 or £20 adult prices. Some will have decided its on telly I'll stay at home and watch it. The UEFA Cup big games (Lisbon and Madrid) did manage to pull in over 25k tho with cheap tickets - and with not many away fans. Were both of those on TV? I can't remember. I know the games in the first European season were.
