They just read the Brazil sqaud on the radio.

Fuck me sideways.

Yep, they must be favourites. If they don't win it, it must be Argentina or France. France will probably fuck it up again with infighting about the consistency of breakfast croissants or the correct temperature to serve cassoulet.

Is Tarkowski in form I've not seen much of him? He has the best average rating over the last 12 months of all our CB options according to sofascore but not sure how reliable that is.

He's a proper old school defender, reliable and trustworthy who puts everything on the line to prevent a goal and is a goal threat from set pieces. His positioning and tackling is second to none and he never seems to make mistakes or lose his man. I really don't understand what he has to do to get picked - maybe it's because he keeps it simple rather than spraying it around - but he's exactly who you'd want on your side if you were playing in a WC.

It's actually a really difficult selection for GS this tournament because he probably wants to pick centrebacks that have the most experience playing together so they have some cohesion, which is probably, Walker, Maguire, Stones.

But Walker's injured, Maguire has been out of form for a while and Stones also injured. But both City players will probably be fit in time for Qatar. And Maguire has always done well for England to be honest.

I've seen lots of calls for Tomori to get picked, not seen any calling for Tarkowski till now. Ben White also been doing well at right back for Arsenal but could he slot into a new-look back 3 with the other non-injured/in form players?

Doubt GS would go for White, Dier, Tomori/Tarkowski in a back 3 who have never played together, when he could stick to what he knows in a big tournament. He might change one of his usual selection at most. So Walker, Dier, Stones?

And before people moan about GS picking 2 defensive midfielders it is a result of having no faith in the defensive options.

And he is a boring prick too.

Being in winter does not bother me, holding it during the football season does.

I think they did alright last time.

However, no Kante and no Pogba is gonna hurt them.  If we don't win it I hope the Argies do it so Messi has a WC win to his name.

I'm the same generally.

For some reason I just can't seem to be arsed with this one.

I'm sure it will change once it all kicks off.

Yeah I saw him.

In regards to the series the undercover police stuff better become good. The Sardinia deputy chief is a bitter knob head as well.

I thought I'd read and watched everything there was to about England at Italia 90 so this undercover cop thing is a new angle, but I'm wondering what they're getting at with it. It is a bit of a confused story, they're talking to the players about the games but barely covering the actual football.

I've a feeling its going to end up finishing nicely gift wrapped with all football violence ended after Italia 90, the Premier League started and everyone lived happily ever after.
